i was a guest at a wedding once where they did this: they had a little angel pin inside the program and it went with this 'passage'...

'Someone Is Missing'

Let this Angel be a loving reminder
that someone is missing today,

for all those who gather here,
Someone who won't be forgotten,

And then it said Please wear this pin in loving memory of... and the person's name. This was specifically for a man so I'm sure you could tweak it for a girl-- but either way, it's really nice for a specific person. It made me cry

the second verse and certain parts of the third and fourth were in italian and my father in law translated it for me-- so, it's not exactly what is written in the song but it is italian to english and we tweaked it to make sense b/c when you translate everything is backwards and a little different.

On this special day, we remember all of our loved ones who are not with us. Through the years, their comfort and wisdom have helped to shape our lives. They are here today smiling down on us and watching over us to ensure a wonderful ceremony and a long enduring life together. We love them with all our hearts and they will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Got a picture of you I carry in my heart,
Close my eyes to see it when the world gets dark,

I used this one for my dad......

if roses grow in heaven
lord please pick a bunch for me
place them in my father's arms
and tell him they're from me
tell him i love him and miss him
and when he turns and smile

because remembering him is easy

because i'm missing him today

I am using it in a frame with a candle NEXT to it with all of our loved ones names on it that are passed
