Jeweler's vacation first 2 weeks of July

uh-oh. i really need to get my MOH gift by Sunday and wanted to get her little diamond earrings to match a pendant she has 'circle of life' but i called one of the diamond district jewelers and they're on vacation the first 2 weeks of july!!! i recall while shopping for our w bands being told this too....???

It is true that usually the diamond district is 'shut down' during the 1st 2 weeks of July. But working on 47th street I've noticed that many stores are in fact open. This sems to be due to the higher price of gold and less sales. I am sure that you can come down and find something in the locations currently open, even if not your normal jeweler. Good luck!

they're still there...

I think its just the diamond district, and bowery.

Closed for Vacation - June 27th Thru July 12th
No Saturday or Sunday hours from July 12th thru September 4th

thanks. is your jeweler is at the diamond district? i'm off on Friday so i was hoping to get that done - live in Bklyn and hate to schlep out east just to go to tricounty. i'm already driving out east Sat. for my fitting.... i feel like i spend more time commuting everywhere lately than anywhere else

Yes, they close every year the first two weeks of July.
I got the girls their jewelry from Tri County and I was told they wont be in til the end of July b/c the district is closed the beg. of July. I'm sure Tri County isnt shut down, but if they get it from the city then you'll prob have to wait

I work for a Jewelry company - mostly gold and it is true MOST jewelry co's close for a week or two in July for vacation. It is because a lot of our oversea vendors are closed for the month of July and some even August.
