Jewish Brides...Kippot Question...
Should the colors of the kippots match the girls dresses, or does it not matter? Also, I am getting married at the reception place and not a temple, so do you think many people will wear them???? I am deciding how many to order...
Thanks...

Re: Jewish Brides...Kippot Question...
I'm getting mine in ivory suede-like material.Just think they will only wear them for ceremony and how many pics are actually taken with the back of guests heads to the camera...

Re: Jewish Brides...Kippot Question...
We ordered black satin kippot which coincidentally did match the girls dresses. It wasn't intentional - we just liked the fact that black goes with everything, and it's not super flashy. We also got married at our hall, and we ordered about 75 yarmulkes (we had about 155 guests). Obviously you should figure out how many you'll need for your family (ies) and BP, and then about 2/3 of the male guests. You'd be surprised by the number of non-Jewish guys that actually enjoy wearing them! In the end we had about 30 leftover, and we gave them to my Synagogue.

Re: Jewish Brides...Kippot Question...
My MOH and BM dresses are different colors and the Kippot do not come in either color, so I got a complimentary color. If you are in a temple, all the men should wear one whether they are jewish or not. We are being married by a Rabbi at the Harbor Club and I ordered one (plus some extras) for every man at the wedding.

Re: Jewish Brides...Kippot Question...
mine did but only because my color are pink and brown, the girls dresses are pink and brown and the kippots were pink and brown. They certainly don't have to match though.

Re: Jewish Brides...Kippot Question...
we got brown suede kippot, and the girls dresses were brown .... actually, almost everything was brown
personally i just prefer how the suede look & fit as compared to the satin ones. the suede are 4 panel so they lay flatter, satin are usually 6 panel so they sit a little higher.
our wedding was interfaith at the RH ... mostly only our jewish guests wore them.

Re: Jewish Brides...Kippot Question...
We got ours in purple suede. They were in the same color family as the brides maid dresses. I think you should get them in brown and green polka dots. They will look marvelous.

Re: Jewish Brides...Kippot Question...
I ordered suede ones to match the bridesmaid dresses and groomsmens' vests just because I LOVE this color blue, and thought it would look nice to match. My MOH/BM are wearing Blue Velvet from David's, and the groomsmen will be in Royal Blue vests & ties (Sterling brand at Zeller's), so I ordered 'Royal' blue yarmulkas. The BP's yarmulkas have silver trim around them.Coincidentally, we were at a bar mitzvah on Saturday (FH's family) and they had the same exact blue that I chose. They were really nice!

Re: Jewish Brides...Kippot Question...
Ahh the million dollar question. we were just discussing this topic this weekend. I personally dont think they need to match the girls dresses. I am not ordering purple kippahs! lol I think we are gonna go for a black or dark grey suede. I too am getting married at the RH so I dont think everyone will wear one. FH got mad when I suggested we order no more than 50. He said it will look bad if we run out. I tried to explain that I would rather run out then see any on the ground or left on a table. Now that would be a sin!!do RH have basic ones to give to guests or is it our responsibility? just curious

Re: Jewish Brides...Kippot Question...
Not sure if place has or not. I too am getting married in Fox Hollow. I only wanted to get 9 or 10 dozen, my dad wanted 12 dozen, so we went with 11 dozen, I think we will have WAY TOO MANY because most people won't wear them, UNLESS a groomsman or special guest physically hands them out! Then people will almost feel obligated to wear them....Good luck!!!

Re: Jewish Brides...Kippot Question...
I was at a wedding where people wore them and then put them back into the box where they picked them up after the ceremony.I don't know what the place did with them, maybe reuse them
I would totally donate my extras too, its just good Karma.

Re: Jewish Brides...Kippot Question...
Mine were white, which didnt really match anything but I thought there would be a chance people would wear them again. From what I can tell from the pictures, all the men wore one.Welcome New Vendors
