Kinkos or Staples to Print Envelopes?

I'm about to give up on printing my envelopes myself. It's been horrible. I have the files all set up and on a disc so I was thinking of taking the disc and my envelopes to Staples or Kinkos to be printed.

Has anyone ever done this?

Re: Kinkos or Staples to Print Envelopes?

I haven't printed envelopes at Kinkos before but I have used kinkos for other projects and time and time again they have proven to be incapable of doing anything right.

I've had better luck with staples. I like the one in Oceanside, but I'm pretty sure they are all the same. Staples is also cheaper than Kinkos.

Good luck.

Re: Kinkos or Staples to Print Envelopes?

Thanks!

I think I might give it one more try at work. It's tough, I only have a limited time frame to do it (when nobody is around!!!)

Re: Kinkos or Staples to Print Envelopes?

Hi there --- I had so much trouble with my enevelopes in the beginning and I called dozens of printing places, including Kinkos and Staples and no one would do it. Well, that's not true - Minuteman Press in Massapequa Park was the only place that would do it, and he wanted like $2 an envelope. It's aparently not considered printing - it's 'addressing' - and the commercial printers don't take the pretty paper that well or in bulk.... good luck though! eventually my printer worked, so have hope! Make sure you're using the guide on it so it feeds it in straight

Re: Kinkos or Staples to Print Envelopes?

Ugh, I'm currently in the same boat. It is a nightmare. Each envelope has to be created and fed individually into our printer. But at least I know it's getting done...I was worried about any other places doing it...I'm too much of a control freak.

ETA: sorry I am no help whatsoever, i just wanted to commiserate.

Thanks so much for letting me know! FH and my dad came up with the idea of going to one of those places to get it done and you've saved me a trip.

I think I'm going to try again this week at work, one morning before others get in (since I'm in so early!!!) I'm getting the hang of it slowly so hopefully, I won't lose too many more envelopes (although it's nice that it's only $15 to replace as many as I want through Birchcraft).

Thanks! It's nice to know I'm not the only one having these issues!

It's so slow here right now I wish I could just print them (and the people who share my printer are in a meeting).

Re: Kinkos or Staples to Print Envelopes?

I used to work at Staples in the copy center for 6 years. We were never able to print envelopes in our machine. They would only get stuck. So I wouldnt' recommend getting them printed there. I haven't gone to Kinko's so I don't know if they are able to print envelopes or not. I HTH!!

Re: Kinkos or Staples to Print Envelopes?

I did mine on my home computer and they took forever. I went to my parents house today and it got delivered and the ink ended up smudging. You can't use a laser printer if you have a return address printed (the heat will melt it). I don't know why the ink smudged, we had them hand cancelled.
