Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

Hey girls... I have a problem that is really bothering me. I searched (many many days) trying to find the perfect hall for my May wedding. I really liked CC and Lenard's. Though I wanted an outside ceremony (with Leonard's I can't) I ended up booking Leonards (location and amnt of food). Now, I keep hearing how they have HUGE amounts of weddings there everyday, I am starting to reconsider.. I don't know what to do...

What do you think, should I stay with Leonard's or go with CC?

Please help

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

I think they can have up to 5 weddings at the same time. But they will not schedule the start of your cocktail hour or the start of your dinner at the same time as another wedding. So you don't have to worry about your guests and another wedding's guests coming in at the same time, causing confusion of which room to go to. They have different floors, it's not like all 5 rooms are on one floor. I really haven't seen Crest Hollow, so I don't know.

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

Not to totally throw you off track, but did you check out the Woodbury Country Club... it's a little past the Crest Hollow Country Club and it also has beautiful outside gardens.

Would you lose your whole deposit at Leonard's?? When did you book with them?

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

p.s. - how many weddings does the Crest Hollow do?

Woodbury Country Club only has 2 and they stagger the times..

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

I wouldn't loose the deposit... they give it back if they book the room to someone else.. and i am sure they will.

CC has only 2 weddings.. its a small

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

Oh, well that's good that you wouldn't lose the deposit. If you feel that you really don't want to have it at Leonard's... then change it while you can this way you have no regrets...

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

The thing is I do like Leonard's the best... and other than the outside wedding thing (wich may end up not happening anyway due to rain) that is the hall I want.

My main concern is the multiple weddings. Everyone keeps bring it up 'its a beautiful place, but they do MANY weddings at one time' I guess the question is, how disturbing is it really?

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

I got married at the Crest Hollow and loved it!! My friend had her reception at Leonards and it was also wonderful. I picked the Crest Hollow b/c it was a little cheaper and i loved the outside ceremony - it was perfect and worth it.

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

Gail, you mentioned that with Leonards you weren't able to have an outside ceremony?? Are they booked for another outside ceremony on your wedding date? Because they do have facilites for this.

In regard's to your dilemma, I think you should definitely do what makes you happy. However, I really like Leonard's as well, but again we're booked there, therefore I'm not a good judge.

Best of luck

Edited for spelling.

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

I'm not too worried about the multiple weddings thing. My sister is going to a wedding there in two weeks, so I guess she can let me know how it is with the weddings going on, if they cause an interference or not.

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

I'm hoping they're so booked because they're so good! I went to a few places before Leonard's, and this was the first place where there were other people waiting to speak to a banquet manager, and the first place that was booked all the possible days I wanted for the room I was supposed to get. But then they gave me a room a little bigger since it was available one of the days, so that worked out even better for me.

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

i LOVE LEONARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think you should keep it regardless of how many weddings are also there! As long as they dont interfere with yours and you still get good attention....hmmm....now I see your reason for concern.

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

Hi.

I am a former bride who had her wedding at place that holds multiple weddings (Coral House)

I would say if you really love Leonard's stick with it.

At my place there were 2 other weddings going on the day I got married and it did NOT bother me at all. I hardly noticed it. My staff was so on top of things and I am sure you will find that to be the same at Leonard's.

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

Crest Hollow has the multiple wedding thing down to a science. We never saw another party and got married there on May31st at the height of the season. The food was unbelievable, the service was impeccable...and the rooms were gorgeous. The night we got married we had the entire top floor to ourselves. It really was great!

I'd been there when more than 1 party was going on,...a friends wedding was next door to a party for 700, and we never crossed paths once and didn't hear a thing. The only reason I knew was because we were scoping the place out for our wedding!

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

August04... To answer your question. They do have an outside wedding option, but it is right next to a very busy work. When we went to look there it was very loud, with cars beeping so we decided that if we do it there we'll do it inside. So, we booked an inside room for the ceremony

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

Hello,

I went to a wedding at Leanards this past June and it was beautiful. They are very orderly so even if other events are going on it is not a problem.

I may be wrong but I don't think that place is big enough to have 5 weddings at a time. I think that is an overstatement. Is that what Leonards told you or what you heard from someone else?

Re: Leonard's or Crest Hollow Country Club

No, Leonards said they do 3 weddings at atime. People told me they sometimes do more.
