Nassau County Museum of Art - Weddings?

Has anyone been to a wedding at the Nassau County Museum or art or inquired about a wedding there?

Any info you might have would be greatly appreciated (capacity, separate area for CH and reception, ability to have a dance floor / band, etc.)

Thanks!

I did...they require a donation of $5000 for using the museum. that does include catering or anything...that's just to get permission to have your wedding there. They give you a list of caters you can use and you have to pick one of those. Very nice location but I felt they had way toooo many restrictions.

Geeze, $5k just to use the grounds?

Nevermind. I could do a vineyard wedding for that!

You may want to see about another art museum. You have to remember that type of space typically is rented out for private showings and upscale parties... MEGA BUCKS!!! I am doing a invitation for a cancer care organization and they couldn't afford to have it there or oheka castle they are doing one of the other GOLD COAST area mansions that is a little less money.

Re: Nassau County Museum of Art - Weddings?

I'm not dying for a museum wedding. I was just curious about the price here b/c it seemed to be advertised as reasonably priced. I'd imagine they'd all have site fees + you have to bring in an outside caterer... I don't want to deal with the hassle of doing that.

To be honest, from the pics, it looks like if it rains, then everything would be under the tent - CH included. I want a separate room for the CH.

I'm pretty sure we're going to go a more traditional route in the end, though.
