need opinion on Larkfield Manor Vs. Watermill

Hey guys... We are so tossed between the Larkfield Manor and the Watermill. Can anyone help us who has had weddings at either one or been to weddings there. We want to get married at the venue. So outside and inside matter to us bigtime if it is a nice day or hopefully not raining out. We are getting married in May of 2011. thanks

Re: need opinion on Larkfield Manor Vs. Watermill

I'm getting married at Larkfield. My sister got married at Larkfield. My parents got married at Watermill.

My BM is a videographer and he told me that Watermill is not as personal because they do a few weddings a day. I cannot vouch for this because I've never been to a wedding there.

What I can tell you is that Larkfield is BEAUTIFUL and the food is amazing. They can do up to 2 weddings a day, but everything is separate so you'd never see the other people. I had such a wonderful time at my sister's wedding that I wanted to have mine there (and I'm going to!). The outside has just been redone and it is beautiful. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Larkfield.

Re: need opinion on Larkfield Manor Vs. Watermill

I have been to both & had great experiences at both. But I have to say the Watermill. There were a few things at Larkfield that bothered me but may not have bothered anyone else. But I have been to the Watermill so many times & I have not one bad thing to say about it! It's just Phenominal!

Re: need opinion on Larkfield Manor Vs. Watermill

Hey! I have only visited Larkfield but I live right near the Watermill. I think Watermill is beautiful but decided not to go see it because I heard that the parties there sometimes overlap from another LI Bride. Perhaps she caught them on an off night but she mentioned that one party often had to wait to walk around because the other bride was taking pictures. Larkfield seemed nice just wasn't for us! I do not know if this helps but I am sure you will have a beautiful day no matter where you choose!

I've been to both and prefer Watermill - the area for the outdoor ceremony there is just gorgeous, as is the area for the outdoor cocktail hour. I have nothing negative to say about Larkfield but I personally prefer Watermill.

Re: need opinion on Larkfield Manor Vs. Watermill

I'm super biased, but I would say Larkfield. Harry, George and Maryanne have been soooo great since we booked there, and totally accommodating. The price was great, and they threw in some extras too, we can't wait to get married there. We had our food tasting there about 2 weeks ago and everything was amazing, we were all stuffed halfway through the main course lol.

I've never heard one bad thing about LM, and every bride that wrote a review about it had nothing but positive things to say about it!

HTH!

Re: need opinion on Larkfield Manor Vs. Watermill

We visted both larkfield and the watermill, and we booked with the watermill. A few things i did not like about larkfield was the narrow enterance(when we went to meet the BM, there was a wedding comming and going it was so hecktic and you could hardley get by not to mention both wedding guest and bride crossed paths.) I actually did love the small room of larkfield better then large room, and i did like the large bar area for cocktail hour. However i did think there was much to the growns and or outside of larkfield. The watermill is very elegant even thou it is off of the main road once you are in the parking lot you would never know. We got a better price from watermill and i didnt feel they were pushy. Watermill has been great to us we have been booked since 2008 and we are not getting married till 2010 so we have had a long relationship with them, lol. I honestly think it depends what you are looking for in your RH. We are going to FH cousins wedding at larkfield in a Oct. I hope this helps.

My mom got married at watermill too! 25 years ago I think.

Anyway I've been to both. I'm a bigger fan of watermill but they're both very nice places.
