NWR: Teeth Bonding
I just got my front teeth bonded, and it feel weird to me. It doesn't have that glossy feel, like teeth normally do. I'm getting a little used to it, but I feel like when I eat the food rubs my teeth in a weird way, if that makes sense. Anyone else have bonding? Is this normal?

Re: NWR: Teeth Bonding
Yes and yes.I had bonding for many years and recently had crowns put on instead. It makes a big difference; the crown is porcelain, shiny and smooth. Bonding isn't, it's a bit gritty.
You may want to consider replacing the bonding with crowns later on. It's been my experience that bonding discolors from coffee, wine and smoking moreso than porcelain.

You know what. I think later on in life when I've got some
I will get porcelainn. I guess I'll have to live with this for now.

Re: NWR: Teeth Bonding
it depends on your dentist, some will smooth the bonding and some won't. If this is a real concern for you, talk to your dentist to see if there is anything he/she can do about it.

What kind of bonding did you have? I have it on my two front teeth. The back feels dirty, as if I needed to brush. Also, one of my front teeth looks likes it is an aabnormal shape. Although, everyone thinks it looks good, it's really concerning me.

Re: NWR: Teeth Bonding
That feeling in 'the back of the teeth' goes away. I had a space in between my teeth (just look at my wedding pics...) and I recently had it fixed with bonding. You get used to that weird feeling, and the back also gets smoother with time.

Re: NWR: Teeth Bonding
The more I look at my teeth, the more unhappy I get. One tooth is just not shaped right. Is it possible to remove bonding without ruining my teeth?

Re: NWR: Teeth Bonding
I have had more work done on my teeth than anyone needs in a lifetime...and bonding should feel smooth. They may have nt used a sealant on them yet...are you supposed to go back to have it rechecked? I had bonding for years, and now I have veneers and they also feel super smooth...a little more than my own teeth, but none of it did until I had the sealant brushed on. It took a total of two minutes. One to prepare the stuff, 30 seconds to brush it on and 30 more to dry. Ask them , it should be part of the cost!

Not sure as it was not planned. I was in the chair just to redo an OLD filling with a ne dentist and the tooth broke. So he says 'It looks like we have to do some bonding.' I was rather vulnerable with novocaine paralyzing the side of my face so I pretty much had no choice! Sorry. I wish I could be of more help.
