Petticoat or hoop skirt?

I want my dress to be poofy, so I am debating between each. I don't think I would be comfortable with hoop skirt- isn't it hard to sit in? Can you tell me why you chose (or are choosing) one or the other?

Sorry, I can't help since I haven't even started dress shopping yet. I was thinking I wanted poofy too, but I am getting married in the summer also and am concerned about how hot it will be. I'm thinking maybe as a compromise I'll get a tulle skirt but I don't know if I have to wear anything under it or if it is naturally poofy. Just remember that summer brides have the added worry about the heat

i tried dresses on with a hoop but did not end up getting one because my dress has plenty of filer but is hot

hoop
pros - lighter wieght more airy important in summer
-moves the weight out
- gives very full look
cons
- hard to sit in - but how much are you sitting
- easy to kneel in - if you are having a mass

crinoline
pro- easy to sit in
con- can be very hot
-takes a lot more layers to get very full effect

I am going with crinoline slip, I guess thats the petticoat, I want my dress to be a little puffy, but not that much. I I think it will be a lot more comfortable then a hoop skirt. The dress doesn't have anything built in to it so I want it to stand out like the picture

I got a hoop skirt from ebay the best purchase I made so far. I love the way it made my dress look. I brought the four hoops

I ordered the 3-hoop kirt on ebay from angel bridals and it was fine...but I havent tried it on with my gown yet. I can definitely say that even with the full slip they gave me to try on with the gown, the weight of the silk satin weighed the crinoline down and it got flat after a few minutes...I am debating on getting the 4-hoop slip now!
