Re: please share your memory candle sayings

During the ceremony we were supposed to have a memorial candle lighting - but I forgot the candles, here is what the wording was:

These moments we string together and call our lives are fleeting. There are so many people who passed away before this day. The bride & groom have requested that we take a brief moment to celebrate those who could not be here in body to share in this celebration.

This large candle symbolizes the light of life in this world. Each of us is a part of this light. Jeannie and Rob do not believe that life ends when your body leaves this world. We would like to invite some members of their families to come up and light the smaller candles to honor those people who are here with us in spirit only today. (Each person will use a taper to light one of the smaller tea candles, as the flames are lit we would like you will say the names of the deceased: Louis Sorensen, father of the bride; Patricia Sorensen, mother of the bride; Karen Kelly, sister of the bride; Julie Maniaci, aunt & godmother of the bride, Connie Culbertson, aunt of the bride; Joseph, Eleanor, Axel & Olga – grandparents of the bride; Althea & Norbert McGivney, grandparents of the groom; Sophie & Steil, grandparents of the groom;

We let these candles burn bright to honor lives remembered and love that will never be forgotten. _moment of silence_

**honestly - I forget how she modified this to accomodate the lack of candles.. but it was nice.

And then I had this in my program:
“Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.” Eskimo Proverb

Louis & Patricia are the parents of the bride. They are deceased but they created quite a legacy. In addition to their 5 children they left 9 grandchildren ranging in age from 3 to 30 and a great grandson. Their humor and their limitless capacity for love is sorely missed.

Karen Ann is the eldest sister of the bride. A life snatched from us far, far too soon. Her absence is felt deeply – but her enthusiasm for life is remembered vividly.

We also would like to honor so many others – our grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends who left us before this day.

Although these people cannot be here with us in body, we feel their presence and their love. Reminders of lives remembered and loves never to be forgotten – etched on the faces of our friends and our families – and felt in our hearts.

Re: please share your memory candle sayings

We're not doing a memory candle, but we are having a picture of a candle in our program with this below....

As we celebrate this day with our family and friends, we would also like to remember those who are not with us today, but are looking down on us and are here in spirit.

We're not listing names, otherwise it would be my entire program ! ! You can list the names after the saying if you wanted to though.
