Save the date magnet and the dreaded mailbox
So this weekend I decided to send out my save the dates. The post officewas already closed by the time I gt there, so I decided to put them in the mailbox right outside of the post office. So when I opened up the mailbox to make sure they all went down......to my surprise some of them were sticking to the door...sides and back of the box.
I litterally stuck my arm all the way into the mailbox, peeled themagnets from the sides and made sure they all went down.
Now I'm wondering whether or not everyone will receive them!!
Metal mailbox and magnets don't mix

I didn't have any problems with people receiving them. I'm sure that the mailman will see them if they are stuck to the sides.

Re: Save the date magnet and the dreaded mailbox
Out of 150 (roughly sent) STD's only 3 people didn't get them AND I handed them to the person behind the counter at the post office. For some reason they weren't returned to me either. But 3 out of 150 isn't too bad.I wouldn't stress it.

you have to admit its kind of funny... i totally would have done the same thing, wouldn't have even crossed my mind that that would happen. i'm sure whoever opened the box took any envelopes that were still stuck to the sides.. don't worry!!

Seriously! I never thought of that either. At least you were smart enough to check if they went down. I usually plop my stuff in and leave without looking. This is a great post for people like me- I would have never thought!

Re: Save the date magnet and the dreaded mailbox
I think about my reaction to this at least a few times a day and always laugh to myself picturing the look on my face.To top it off a friend of mine mentioned that the mail may be sorted via a conveyer belt....probably made of metal......how true this is I don't know but if it is I feel sooo badly for all of the postal workers handling my mail

I'm sorry, that is a really funny story. But, don't worry. My magnets made it to everyone ok.
