The Riviera - Massapequa
Hello Everyone,After a long weekend of searching, my fiance and I are 99% sure we are going to book with the Riviera. I have done a lot of research, and read a ton of reviews here on the forums. However, I wasn't able to find any recent (2014) reviews. Has anyone had or been a guest at a wedding there recently? We are a little concerned about the food, so any thoughts would really help!
Thanks!!

I'm booked there as well but have not done a tasting yet. From what I've heard on here other brides that had tastings recently loved the food. I also had a photographer recently tell me the food was really good as well. So far I'm very happy with them. Hope that helps! Any other questions let me know! Also when booking ask them to throw stuff in. They threw in the champagne cart and mashed potatoe bar for me.

Thank you so much! We are hoping they throw in the mashed potato bar & valet parking for us. Either that, or adding more servers. Are you doing a buffet or sit down wedding? Also, do you know how many servers per table they have? We forgot to ask that.

Re: The Riviera - Massapequa
We are booked at the Riviera November 2015. They are VERY open to negotiations. I definitely recommend telling them your lowest quoted price somewhere else and asking if they can match it. I got a great price for a Friday night that way! They also threw in a bunch of extras as well. It is such a beautiful venue. They actually give you the option to come in within 30 days of booking with them to taste their food, and if you really don't like it and want to cancel your contract, they will give you your entire deposit back! Just make sure you mention it to them before you sign and schedule a tasting within 30 days of booking!

My best friend got married there last summer. It was so beautiful there and the cocktail hour was great! I can't remember anything about the entree, but I would have remembered if I didn't like it. It is a beautiful venue! Good choice!

No actually we have not discussed servers with them. I assumed once they get my final headcount they would determine how many are needed based on the number of guests. I didnt disuss valet parking either. I think thats a nice perk for sure but since there is convenient parking right there it wasnt a must for me but now im curious and am definitely going to ask! lol

Yeah while visiting other venues, the valet parking and amount of servers per table was pointed out to us, so we want to ask the Riviera that. I really want great service, so thats important to me. I never knew it was important before yesterday, lol! Also, personally, I think valet parking just makes the whole place a little 'classier' overall. I know if I was a guest at the end of the night I wouldn't want to walk to my car in heels after dancing all night! Thats really my decision on that.We are more leaning toward buffet dinner right now. They said if we wanted that, they would double the cocktail hour selections, and then we could mix and match the number of dishes however we wanted between cocktail hour and dinner.

My experience so far with them is that they are very flexible so I would just ask and i'm sure they will work with you on all of your needs. Good luck!

What is their capacity like? It looks beautiful but I think our final count is going to be around 180 and I read that The Riviera maxes out around 150?

Re: The Riviera - Massapequa
They said they can fit 240. Truthfully, I'm not sure how. But last night I saw the room set for 190 people, and it was very nice, not crowded, and everyone could see everything from their seat. I was actually shocked how well 190 people fit. I have some pictures of the tables set up, and I will try to get them on here for you.

I'm getting married there too and they are a pleasure to deal with! They really worked with me on the price, and threw in a lot of extras! Are you ladies going to their showcase on February 22?

Yes I am!!! With like a dozen family members and friends. They're all very excited to see the place. I can't wait. They gave us a few extras when we signed our contract.
