'tiffany balls'?
Does anyone have these ring sizing balls? I have heard they are uncomfortable. My ring guard BROKE, and I do not want the ring resized..its an antique. I like the ring tight, I am scared it will fly off and I hate when it turns....Any opinions?

Re: 'tiffany balls'?
I have them and I love them!!! My ring is a little too big on me because I have a big knuckle, and when I first got it, it always spun around. It got those balls and now it stays in place. It is not uncomfortable at all! The only thing is I now need to lather up my hands with soap to get the ring off! But it is definatley better with the balls.

I also have them. My ring was a little too big. I wanted to have it resized, but because of my setting it wasn't really an option. They can't resize it without having to replace a part of the setting.Anyway, the balls are totally undetectable when the ring is on your finger, and you won't even notice they are there. (feeling-wise).

I got mine at The Commack Jewelry Exchange but any jeweler should be able to do it. It takes like 2 minutes and cost me $5. I got white gold balls (my ring is platinum). I'll post pics tonight after work.

Re: 'tiffany balls'?
I heard about the sprng guard too. I think its sorta like a 'regular' guard but instead of going towards the bottom it goes almost the entire cicumfrence of the ring. Not too sure how it works. I think I'm gonna get the balls. Thanks everyone!

Re: 'tiffany balls'?
I have a ring guard but I was wondering about those balls - what happens if you gain/lose weight? does it make any difference?

Re: 'tiffany balls'?
Well the jewelry store I went to does not do the balls!
They said it's not cost effective to me to get them added and taken out ect... They said either a guard or just have the ring sized. I had to get another guard anyhow to keep the ring from turning. I hate the guard, its annoying. I don't wanna size the ring, its been sized 2 x already and I don't want to weaken it. I guess I'll see how the ring fits in the summer and I'll keep the guard till then.

I don't understand how it is not cost effective. It cost me $5. Try another jeweler!

Re: 'tiffany balls'?
I have them also - I actually could have had my ring sized but I preferred the balls for now in case my finger swells in the summer. They actually work great (I have a larger knuckle also) and the ring is totally comfortable - you'd honestly never know they're there. I may eventually have the ring sized but for now this works great b/c I really didn't want to keep the guard on (just my preference)

Re: 'tiffany balls'?
I have them and i've had no problem with them at all! My ring was too big, so instead of getting the jeweler to size it, they put the balls on, and they can be removed if needed!

Re: 'tiffany balls'?
Hi! I have the balls in my ring too and they are great! I was told the ring guard can scratch up your ring pretty bad. The balls are soldered in, but if you gain weight or anything all they do is file them down so it fits. And it stops the ring from spinning.

Re: 'tiffany balls'?
My ring has balls. So it is a male ring .LOL. I could not make it any smaller because it will lose shape as well as diamonds. So we had to get the balls. It is not uncomrfotable. At first, It was a little weird but now I don't even know they are there.

Re: 'tiffany balls'?
i can't help but giggle every time i read that someone's ring has balls!!just a note about the guards though.....when FH first got my ring, it was a little big for me, so the jewler put a guard on it and it TOTALLY scratched the ring.
they took care of that when i had it sized, but i'm a little scared of the gurads now because of that
