Trattoria Diane in Roslyn

Anyone do a private party there? I am thinking it is a possibility for the RD.

I had my shower there! We also threw a surprise party for my grandmother there.

IMO, it is probably the most consistently good food on LI. Both parties were fabulous.

I know the food is great, just wondering what the service was like for a party-- sounds like it was great..

The service was great...and we are a hard crowd to please. For my shower, we got the duck, lobster, shrimp, and scallop risotto, and the steak. They also got a choice of two salads. They also got a choice of four desserts. We also had a cocktail hour.

Denise is the person who organizes the parties. She is great. The only problem is the size of the room. They can only fit about 60 people upstairs and less downstairs.

my Mom wanted to have my bridal shower here, but she was afraid that it would be too tight. I've heard excellent things about Diane's.

We are only have about 45 for the RD-- plus I think for a shower you need more room- all those presents!..

I too have a critical crowd..

We would do the cocktail hour as well.. Not sure about the mains-- there needs to be at least one vegetarain so I can eat!! But I know they have a ton of pastas..

Anyway-- sounds great! Think it might be the place--

They are pretty good about the vegetarian courses. They don't have any on their dinner menu. But when my FI was a vegetarian, they always used to make him something.

They will do a lot of different risottos without any fish or meat.

Such a pretty room! Did you bring in your own flowers, or did they coordinate that?

It's really perfect for a private sit-down meal..

My florist, Matthew Robbins from Artfool did the flowers. It was based on an article he had done in Modern Bride. I hate to brag, but Diane told Denise that the room never looked as good.

I am in the medical field and we have drug rep dinners there sometimes. The food was great the few times I went.
