What did you think of Milleridge Cottage?
I absolutely love the Milleridge Cottage from the pics and my experience at the Inn was great. I have a meeting with the coordinator in two weeks which I'm so excited about. I just wanted to to hear from people if they like there pics? I'm worried that there my not be enough ground for great pics. Also if anyone used their florist and bakery I'd love to know what you thought!
Thanks for your help!!

I don't think you need to worry about taking pretty pics there, the place is beautiful and every pic of a wedding there has been gorgeous!

My cousin was married there a few years ago and it was lovely! The food was really good and her flowers were beautiful (she used the onsite florist). I don't remember the cake though, sorry!

Re: What did you think of Milleridge Cottage?
hi!!!i just got married there on 7/18.
it was the most incredible wedding ever. people are STILL talk about it.
as for the florist, they were AMAZING. i posted my review on everything a few days ago... pics of my flowers are still up -- check em out!!!
PS --------------- they recently (within the past year) changed ownership, so maybe people who used them when the former owners were around were the ones who were unhappy...?

Re: What did you think of Milleridge Cottage?
I was married at the milleridge last year. Don't worry about the opportunity for pics, there were a ton! We took pics inside, in the village, in the back of the cottage. You can check out the pro pics in my album. Also, if you need to get married at the RH, the little atrium they added on to the cottage is beautiful. We didn't use their florist, we just didn't like the attitude when we called them but we used verbena and were very happy with her.

Re: What did you think of Milleridge Cottage?
We just got married there 2 weeks ago (we were the day wedding to divadane's night) and it was *fantastic*!!!People cannot stop raving about what a great location it was, and how great the food was!!!
We did a buffet so everyone would have the chance to eat lots and lots, which worked great. I also had the ceremony there, in the atrium room, which I loved because it wasn't hot (a/c = good in july!) and was so bright and cheery!
We did all our pics there. My photographer has a slideshow up on his weblog but I'm typing this on my phone so it's too hard to cut and paste the url. FM me if you want the link to pics later.
Choosing Milleridge was the best decision we made during the process, honestly!! I haven't written my review yet but will soon and I'll explain more there.
HTH!!!

Re: What did you think of Milleridge Cottage?
My grandmother loves to go out to eat at the restaurant... so I've been going there my whole life. This was the first place we went to look at. And it was nice. But we didn't book it for a few reasons....
The ceilings were kinda low and if I'm not mistaken they were drop ceilings... FH is 6 ft 6 so we need higher ceilings... he actually made the ceilings look even lower than they were and brought more attention to them just by standing in the room.
The CH room is AMAZING!! The round one... the other room with the bar seemed more like a walk through type of room with tables. From the pics I thought the CH room was the reception room for some reason.... so I was disapointed about that. That room is GEORGOUS!!! I LOVED IT!!!
I also liked the fireplace that would be right behind the bride and grooms seat.
There was an odd painting on the wall.... it was very thanksgivingish. I know it was all weddings throughout time... but it looked like thanksgiving to me.
The bridal suite was wayyyyy too small for me. Though nice... it was tiny!! I wanted a HUGE bridal suite because we don't plan on being a part of the CH. We want to have our own little pirvate party with the bridal party and some close family and friends before the madness begins.
When I asked if they make red velvet cake... they offered to dye pound cake red!
hahaha!! I was like.. uh no that won't work. hahaha!
I guess he was trying to be accomidating
Oh and the strangest thing... there was a bag lady with a cart full of what looked like garbage and tons of bags... just strolling around in the parking lot. Other people have seen her when they went there too... so I think she might be a regular parking lot wanderer!!
The grounds are adorable!! They have a little old fashioned looking town that's just sooo cute!!! It's great for some cute pics. I would also like to have some pics near some grass and flowers... and I'm pretty sure they have areas with that... I just didn't see them.
Oh and their bakery is supposed to be great (aside from the red pound cake.. haha)!! My family is a huge fan of their cheesecakes.. so whenever we go there they buy the cheesecakes from the bakery in that lil old fashioned town.

Re: What did you think of Milleridge Cottage?
KerriJohnS - I thought the CH room was the reception room also. On the website and in all the venue mags thats the picture they show so makes it appear that way. I've been looking at pics of other peoples weddings and I noticed that in a particular area the ceilings are lower and it made me a little concerned. I have also seen evening pics where it isn't as noticable. I guess I will judge for myself when me and FH go to see it this weekend. I'm excited I can't wait to check the place out but at the same time nervous because I don't want to be disappointed. If anyone has any other suggestions I'm open. I am having around 200 but I really want it to be as romantic and intimate (despite the number of people- we both have big Italian families) as possible. I am also checking out North Ritz and Douglaston Manor (not sure about a wedding here, lots of sweet sixteens) This weekend. Possibly San Souci and Swan Club next weekend. Please let me know if anyone has any thoughts/ideas/suggestions.

Re: What did you think of Milleridge Cottage?
Take this advice with a grain of salt....MOST of the places post their BEST pics in the magazines!! So when you are looking through the books... know that in most cases you are seeing the BEST shot they have. This is not ALWAYS the case... but for most of the venues we looked at it sure was!
Do you have that book with all the venues and the pics with the description and prices? If not, it's an AWESOME book!! That's how we picked where to go and it's also how we found our place.
I send you FM with some recomendations.

Re: What did you think of Milleridge Cottage?
You saw my pics online... we had about 110 people and I thought it was still extremely intimate! The place seats up to 300 in that room.If you are even for a minute considering a buffet, Milleridge is a fantastic place for one. We had table service for the salad and sorbet intermezzo but the rest was buffet, and everyone is still raving about how good the food was! Plus the buffet is all in the atrium room, which is as gorgeous as everyone says.
I also love the front room for the introduction. We came down the stairs to bubbles, which was my big idea for a grand entrance.

Oh, and the cake... it was the most fabulous cake in the world!!!! Both looks and taste!

Ok, I'll stop now. I'm making myself hungry...
