Re: home made wishing well

I recall someone posting a photo about a year ago. I saw it when I was planning my daughter's shower. They used a laundry basket as the base, attached a broom to one end and maybe a scrub brush to the other (both standing upright somehow) and something for the top. I'm sorry I can't remember.

Re: home made wishing well

Did you ask the girls at BHB, or maybe the Newlywed forum? They may remember it.

If you don't mind me saying this though, it really wasn't that attractive. Did you look around at the traditional one that you rent? They aren't that expensive (around $15) and some of the them are really pretty.... not all! You have to get to a few stores and compare.

Good luck.
Mary

she took the one box and wrapped it in tool this was the base she took 2 paper towel rolls and glued them together and then wrapped them in ribbon. glued tehm to the base box and then the 1/2 of a box she used as the top and covered that in tool and used ribbon along the edges and glued that together it looked really pretty and she said it was very easy to make

If I remember correctly Bethsiar posted this pic from her bridal shower. Here is the picture she posted it on 3/13/04:

Re: home made wishing well

I made a few by using a garbage pail, a laundry bin, a mop and broom. I use duck tape and plenty of tissue paper....crumpled on each end to give it a bunched looked (on the sides, top to bottom) so that it covers the garbage pail. I do the same thing to the laundry bin. I tie the mop and broom to the handles with curling ribbon that matches the bridesmaids colors and hot glue tiny flowers to the tissue paper that also match. Best part is the clean up.....just toss all the unbreakable gifts in the garbage pail and laundry bin to drag them to the car. Using the duck tape saves loads of time and the tissue paper covers the tape so you don't see it.
