All good things come to an end
DH and I live in a split level house, the upstairs has 3 bedroom and was vacant for about 2 years, and the downstairs were we live is 1 bedroom, bath etc...We dont pay rent! Because this house is owned by my inlaws, and they allowed us to live in the downstairs portion, with eventually the intention of renting the upstairs...Now I find out, BIL and his wife are moving upstairs.... I'm just a little sad, because it was nice to have the wholee house to ourselves, with me being able to park however I wanted, scream at DH whenever I wanted, etc... Now all the noise goes upstairs, I can hear them walking, vacumming... etc. Its a mother daughter house.
I know I cant be selfish and not expect them to come up....but Im still a little sad...
Plus Id rather have random tenants, than have BIL and his wife move upstairs, DH and BIL keep coming up and down to talk to each other...Theyre up there painting the rooms....and sometimes I'm just in some nightgown from taking a nap, and I dont want to see BIL in my living room!!!!!
Im not close with BIL wife really, shes super quiet....not the lets talk about fashion while getting our nails done type.
and now my inlaws make me wonder.... they didnt give us the 3 bedrrom upstairs...but BIL gets to move there
I guess all good things come to an end...My privacy, quiet days are over!
Just a vent....

Just think of how much $$ you are saving on rent.

Sorry to hear that.
Maybe you can take this as an opportunity to invite SIL over to try to get to know her more? Maybe she's one of those people who opens up the more she's comfortable.

Unfortuantely she doesnt. I have concluded shes weird...
after remembering her birthday, and anniversary for the last 2 years, sending her flowers, and buying her a little gift, you would think she would attempt to remember any of my days.....but nope! When I text her to see how shes doing, she responds 3 days later, yet shes always next to her phone.
When I call her, she calls me back 2 days later...
I give up.
