Apparently when you're pregnant...
you can't do anything.
Now let me preface this by saying I completely respect the fact that every pregnancy is different. People are put on bed rest, pelvic rest and deal with making sure they have a safe and healthy pregnancy through and through in many different ways.
But my SIL is a rah-tard (thank you to the Hangover to the best way to describe my SIL).
She told us she was planning HER OWN baby shower when she was 4 weeks preggo. By week 9, she announced that she would be stopping work in December (she's due in April) to 'prepare.' Um, ok. And now, at 12 weeks she says that she can't attend DH's grandparent's 60th anniversary party (a 2 hour car ride away) because.... she's pregnant. Not that she's on bed rest or any other kind of rest. She's just pregnant and so she won't be able to make it.
My cousin, on the otherhand, who is due 3 DAYS before my SIL just got back from a bachelorette cruise to the bahamas (not that she was drinking or anything, but she actually wanted to socialize with her friends despite her 'condition.')
Am I an insensitive childless bltch or is she truly being ridic??? (Once again, not trying to insult anyone PG ladies who are unable to get out and about because of certain happenings with your pregnancy - just trying to understand this one!)

Re: Apparently when you're pregnant...
I'll say it! She's a lazy bi tch!Seriously though, most pregnant ladies I know work up until the due date, go out with friends, on vacations etc.
I'lll give it to her that yes, you are EXTREMELY tired in the first trimester and if she has morning sickness, that sucks BUT unless she's been seen by a doctor who advised that she take it very very easy, she's just using it as an excuse IMO.
My SIL is 15 weeks and is dealing with very, very bad nausea/vomiting. There is a term for it and she is on medicine. She did have to take a leave of absence from work because she was almost passing out etc (she's a teacher). But the fact that this girl is just simply saying 'im pregnant' to everything just shows she's lazy IMO.

Thank you for saying this - you've only further confirmed my feeling that she is just nutty since she BRAGS about how she has not thrown up ONCE and hasn't had any morning sickness! Le sigh... it's going to be another long 6 months lol

Re: Apparently when you're pregnant...
I was very sick and tired during my first trimester and it suckked. I wanted to be social because ya know, your social life is put on hold once the baby comes. AS long as we were going somewhere that I can sit most of the time and was near a bathroom, I got up and went.I just had DH or someone ride with me whenever we went somewhere and made my efforts to go - I went on a cruise when I was 14 weeks. The only thing that was hard for me was the beds were not good for my back, so I was constantly stiff, I couldn't drink, and I couldn't use a hot tub. But I got to snorkel, eat all the delicious food, and get a tan.
Your SIL is milking it, definitely. Tell her you know someone who is just about 8 months pregnant and is currently packing up there apartment to move 8 hours away. <--Yep, me.
I will say though, I'm the point where I get easily winded. lol. So I'm slow, but I get things done! What is she going to do when she plans #2 and has to chase after a toddler????

Re: Apparently when you're pregnant...
...yeah...she's just lazy and rediculous!I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks before my wedding. Which pretty much explains why all I wanted to do was nap all the time lol. At that point I was 11 weeks pregnant at my wedding running around having the time of my life. At 26 going on 27 weeks I am running around like a lunatic at work, carrying boxes etc....
The only time I use the 'Im pregnant i cant do that...' excuse Is when it comes time to clean the bathroom... Other than Im as normal as ever...just a little beachballish.
As for the car thing...We drove 8 hours to MA for my friends wedding in august. I stopped to pee twice the entire time. Two hours is NOTHING.
So yea...she's freaking lazy and crazy.
Edited: Because i'm FFS (fat finger syndrome and cant type correctly today)
