Benefits of running

There are often posts on here about exercise and questions about what works in terms of visible results. ...

So saturday I went with DH's entire family to Randall's Island for a NY Catholic HS track & field meet where DH's father was being honored with a moment of silence and memorial recognition...he was a coach at fordham prep for years and sent several runners to the olympics.
Because we were VIPs we got to sit in seats ON the field and I was blown away by how toned and muscular yet leeeeeeeeeeeean the girls were.

Point of the story - running regularly results in a HOT @ss and a seriously toned body! Granted, some of these girls were 15 years my junior, but still!

Needless to say, I went for a run Sunday morning!

Re: Benefits of running

It's sooo true!!! I just saw a friend of mine that I haven't in a month and she's been running and you can really see how her body has toned up.

So of course, tonight I'm putting myself in gear and heading to the gym to run!!!

Re: Benefits of running

I wish I could get the motivation and like to run. Any time I do it - it's such a chore for me.

Re: Benefits of running

Running has SO many benefits. After taking up running I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life! It's also a great hobby, mood booster, and increases self-confidence.

Re: Benefits of running

I'm an off-again on-again runner but now I'm getting more into it than I've ever been and seeing the change in my body--my six pack is finally coming through!

If anyone had trouble psyching themselves up for a run, I suggest finding a good location to do it that motivates you. For me, the loop in Central Park is all the motivation I need (plus a really good running mix on my ipod). I also put myself on a schedule as I'm training for different runs this summer and setting and reaching my goal runs really helps me go further!
