Bride fakes cancer for free wedding!
OMG... I don't see this posted hereNew York bride faked a terminal illness in order to get gifts, a free wedding, and a honeymoon. Jessica Vega pretended to have terminal leukemia in order to have the wedding of her dreams, but according to Michael O'Connell, her husband, it was all a lie.
People only wanted to help the 23-year-old couple have the wedding that would last a lifetime even if Jessica Vega's lifetime were to be cut short. Her lies and manipulation touched not only strangers, but according to O'Connell even her own family.
'Strangers had donated everything from Vega's dress to wedding photos. For the couple's honeymoon, they flew on donated plane tickets to Aruba, where they stayed in a donated time share and spent donated money,' writes RecordOnline.
O'Connell claims that he contacted his wife's doctor because she never seemed ill, but the doctor's office just claimed they had no record of Vega.
Wow, is that a scam? It seems there now is a bitter divorce, and Vega is accusing O'Connell of being abusive. Why is she accusing O'Connell of abuse? Is that an excuse for her lies? She is now with a new doctor, and she is cured.
The whole thing is disgusting, and for O'Connell to claim he didn't know about the lie is just as hard to believe. Scams make it difficult for good people to give their hard earned money to charity when they hear scams like this. She should be prosecuted if she broke a law, and she should have to move where no one knows her if she's guilty.
