Comparing Food Prices

Is it cheaper to buy food at target? I don't ever remember how much things are and I am unsure if I should buy some of my groceries at target over stop and shop, which items are worth picking up and which are worth to get in the actual supermarket?

Re: Comparing Food Prices

We went to Target's grocery section a few times...personally, I feel that there is a wider selection at the supermarket and always need to go there for a bunch of stuff anyway after a Target trip. I have yet to be impressed with their produce selection, and their cheese selection blows.

Basically, it's great if you a) are already planning to go to Target anyway, b) need to stock up on dry/canned goods on sale, or c) your supermarket is within the same shopping center as Target. If it's far away (as our's is), then the time and gas might be a reason to not do much shopping there. It is for us.

Re: Comparing Food Prices

I buy certain things at Target. For example, I get ALL of my frozen meals there (lean cuisines are much cheaper), alot of their canned stuff is cheaper too. I also find the chips to be less money.
But I still need to shop at Stop&Shop because Target has a limited selection.

Re: Comparing Food Prices

DH swears by target for basic food items.

I have no clue. I spent $60 at King kullen the other day and he yelled at me saying, 'What did you buy for $60!!!' I didn't buy much.
