Confirmation Gift ?

My two younger cousins are having their confirmations on Thursday, and the whole family is going out to dinner after the church. What do you think would be an appropriate gift to give? Their parent's gave me bonds for mine, but I feel that that's the type of gift the older adults would give.

I was thinking giving either a visa gift card, or a gift certificate to their favorite clothing store, but I'm not sure if that's appropriate for a confirmation gift.

Re: Confirmation Gift ?

I give either a cash or check. Then they can either buy something for themselves or just put it in the bank :)

Re: Confirmation Gift ?

For the love of all that is holy, don't ask this question on LIF.

But really, give whatever you want. If you want to make sure the kid gets the money, give a bond. If you want it to be spent and not saved, get a visa gift card. If you don't care either way, give cash or a check.

ETA: Personally, I don't think a gift cert. to a clothing store is an appropriate confirmation gift.

I generally do bonds for christenings and either cash or checks for confirmations.

this is why I came here. I knew I'd be ripped apart for any of my suggestions lol

I'll probably give them a check, I'm sure they have savings accounts.

Thanks ladies!

Re: Confirmation Gift ?

Baptisms, communions and confirmations I always give a check or cash. I've given a couple of bonds too, but not usually
