dating anniversaries...

Do you guys really think your 'dating' anniversary goes out the window once you're married?

I don't mean like you have to actually do anything - get cards, gifts etc, but is it a crime to maybe just hang out and get take out or something just to recognize the day? I believe it still has SOME meaning. LOL.

Re: dating anniversaries...

Our dating anniversary is 2 weeks before our wedding anniversary so there's REALLY no point to celebrating it.

Re: dating anniversaries...

Our dating anniversary is in a week and while I'll acknowledge it with a 'Happy Anniversary' to him when we wake up, I don't think we'll celebrate.

same here! DH told me he refuses to celebrate them both - only our wedding anniversary now that we are married.
Next year will be the first time we won't celebrate it. I'll prob just say Happy Anniversary and hope i get lucky

Re: dating anniversaries...

We just had our 3 year yesterday, and we acknowledged the day, wished a happy anniversary to eachother, I made a really nice dinner (too much food in the home to go out), and we enjoyed TV together, followed by some fun into the night hahaha. No gifts or anything like that but I find it sweet to acknowledge it.

I don't think it has to go out the window, the more celebrations the better!

Our dating anniversary is the same day as our wedding anniversary. It worked out nicely that way. :)

Re: dating anniversaries...

I definitely still think it has meaning - it's my birthday!

We still plan to celebrate this year by doing exactly what we did for the last three years - go to Bar Americain for dinner (where he took me on our first date)

Re: dating anniversaries...

Our dating anniversary is the day after Christmas so we never really celebrated it. We decided early on to just do the first year. A couple days after the second year he proposed so now it's more like 'happy anniversary' and a kiss...nothing more nothing less.
