I've been to DC but I've only ever stayed in hotels.

MerryNMatt (she doesn't come on too often) went to georgetown so I'm sure she has some insider info for you! She is away on vacay now but I'll tell her to sign in and help you out when she returns!

Re: DC - 4th of july wknd

I LOVE LOVE LOVE DC! We have a wedding there in February and I'm hoping it's not TOO cold that we can walk around. You can actually take the train if you don't want to drive since cabs are around or you can take the Metro.

Last time I was there was a couple of years ago with some friends. We were staying with my sister (she went to GW for Grad School). I can't help with the condo, I've only stayed at hotels, sorry.

Anyway, when I went with my girlfriends, we walked over to the GW memorial every day and each day took a different path to walk down (we didn't want to do museums). We went to all the memorials around there though.

As for the museums I HIGHLY recommend the spy musuem...it was so cool! ALSO, we found this museum when I went with my parents that we didn't realize was across the street from our hotel. It was the Ford's Theater. You could go into the theater and then in the basement was all things related to Abe Lincoln's assination. It was kinda cool. I would also write to your congressperson if you have time and see if you can get tickets to the white house (which really isn't that big of a deal and takes 5 minutes to walk through) but DEF ask for tickets to Congress if they aren't in session (which they usually aren't July 4th weekend).

That's about it. The spy museum is about a day's worth of things. The air and space is about 3 days so they won't work for a weekend. If I think of anything else I'll try to post it.
