do you / did you have baby stuff BEFORE you were preggo?

So i was talking with two different people the past few days and both said they have purchased baby things before getting pregnant (before even TRYING)

my friend (MOH) said she had purchased something for her future kid when she was 18 years old

i've come close to buying things, but i don't actually have anything yet.

how bout you guys? did you buy anything for your future kids before being pregnant? Oh, and I'm talking about specifically buying ... getting hand-me-downs or whatnot doesn't count

I've honestly been tempted but I haven't...because
1. I'm worried I'll jinx myself
2. I have no room!

i will kick myself for not buying the realllllly cute stufff.. but what if i buy a tutu and i have a boy?? i also dont want to jinx it

and i also know myself... even if i have 800 dresses BEFORE i conceive.. once i conceive, those 800 dresses wont beenough. i will need ot buy more stuff..NEW stuff.. im sick

My sister gave me a crib...I got aggrivated and put it in my mother's basement, but if we do ever have children, I just saved about $500 or so..... Thanks sis and don't pressure me!!

I thought that it was bad luck to buy anything for a baby before having a baby. However...DH and I were at Target once and saw a White Sox (DH's fave team) bib for $1.80! We couldn't resist.

SIL also bought me (about 5 years ago) a picture frame for all of 'babies first moments' for my birthday. We were trying trying then for a little bit. I think she forgot to get me a bday gift and used a re-gift from her own baby shower. boooooo! I still have the frame and swear its bad luck lol

strangely, i have NEVER had the desire to do so. I'm sure once I actually get pregnant (or if, I guess, no jinxing) I'll go buy-crazy!

i only buy stuff that i can put either gender in ...

if for some reason we can't have kids ... i'll give it to my brothers for their kids.

How do you buy baby stuff before even trying to have a baby? I'm confused. How do you know who you're going to have?

I'm 6 months pregnant and still haven't bought anything.. I'm superstitious.

I$ pregnant and I haven't bought anything yet! I'm 17 weeks and didn't wanna jinx it (with 2 past miscarriages I was scared). We are going to buy something in a few weeks when we find out the sex. And this week I'm looking for cribs, but nothing yet! Can't wait to start buying things :)

I don't buy baby 'gear'. I just occasionally buy a cute or funny baby shirt/outfit.

And I mean -- only on the cheap. Things that are clearanced -- I've actually grabbed a few things at garage sales that were like a dime.

I was watching 'Eat Pray Love' and Julia Roberts editor/bff showed her this stuff that she bought before even thinking about getting preggers. I thought that was the weirdest thing ever. but I guess some ppl really do that kinda stuff

Oof...I voted no, but I have...there was an auction at my Temple and there were GORGEOUS, hand knit little sweaters...my Mom talked me into buying them. They are SO cute and one of a kind!!

They are waiting for my fictitious children at her house


That's it though...those were extenuating circumstances.

I voted other! I am always buying baby stuff for other people, everyone around is is having kids - I know 3 more that are due this may. so I have a bunch of baby stuff now - I have a few things that I almost don't want to give away and keep for me. . . . . .but I think that I will still give them away!

no i never have. i actually never thought about it either. i'm 28 weeks pregnant now and havent bought myself anything besides getting the nursery together. even in the beginning of my pregnancy i wasnt ready to purchase baby things
