Do you have a TV in your bedroom?

All the TV posts got me thinking about this.

DH and I are both NOT into the boob tube in the bedroom so we don't have one.

There are definitely times a movie in bed sounds amazing but I am so happy we don't have one in there! We talk SO much in bed and obviously do lots of other fun stuff and we both felt that a TV would be a distraction.

It's funny that you mention this bc growing up, my parents refused (and still do) to have a TV in the living room. They always felt it was a place to sit and talk, NOT to sit and watch TV.

Currently, I have a TV in both the bedroom and living room. When my parents saw that I had one in the living room, they shook their heads in a joking way, but i know they were only half kidding.

yes- our couch in the living room is so uncomfortable to sit and watch movies on so we will watch in the bedroom most of the time.

Yes we have in 1 in both the livingroom and bedroom

not really ...

we have a tv in there, but it's an old tv and does't even work anymore. when it was working, we only used it a small handful of times (once a month or less).

DH actually wants to get a tv that works in there, but i couldn't care less.

I couldn't deal without a TV in my bedroom. When we stayed in a B&B, I came close to a panic attack.

We don't want one in there. I've never had one in my bedroom, ever, and neither has he. Why start now?

plus i love to watch/listen to the news while im getting ready

we do. sometimes i wish we didn't because i do think it allows for a more intimate space, but i do love watching 'today in NY' while getting ready in the morning. me & chris cimino are likethis

other than that, we don't really even watch tv in the bedroom together. i watch before bed when he's away traveling. if he's playing video games on the living room tv, i may watch in the bedroom, but usually i play on the computer or read instead.

yeah but its only on in the morning when im getting ready....

and when im sick laying in bed i need something to watch.


when DH isnt home i have to have the tv on so i dont get creaped out with all the noises!

Yup. We'll watch movies in bed on Saturday mornings or since we're old people we get tired early so we'll get our PJs on and watch the Daily Show and the Colbert Report before going to bed. Plus it's nice if someone isn't feeling well they have it in there so they can hide in the bedroom. It doesn't really distract us from anything...

My parents REFUSE to have one in the living as well for the same reasons as your parents. My ILs are the other way around and have the TV all the time! I do think for holidays though it should be off and everyone should talk but Franky grew up with watching tv on holidays and any other time so it drove my parents CRAZY when they came over for Christmas one year and my ILs and Franky kept turning the tv on. My dad ended up hiding the remote in MY apartment because he thought it was rude.

To answer the question, yes we have one in the bedroom. DH watches tv in the living room and I watch in the bedroom. We don't watch the same shows so it works out better for us and we record WAY too many shows to only have one DVR. PLUS Franky watches tv before he falls asleep.
