Duggar's having #20!!!!

the Duggar's just announced she's pregnant again with baby #20!!! thoughts?? when is it just too much even for them? How could one set of parents possibly give all those kids enough attention and care, they cant possibly!

Maybe I'm cynical but I think because Michelle Duggar is 45 years old, her main goal is to keep herself pregnant to stave off menopause.

I know they don't believe in birth control but with the complications they had with the last prenancy and the risks to both the mother AND the baby, you would think they'd rethink things. I mean, obviously it is their life and I do admire them for really being humble people who live within their means BUT I just don't think it's very fair for the older kids to take care of the younger kids and so on and so on. I feel like they all have parental responsibilities to the next in line!

I don't think it's fair for her kids. She just pops them and gives the others kids the responsibilities. It's too much already.

i completely agree--i think about what her kids on missing out on. The special moments between parents and their children and i feel like with that many kids its impossible to have those moments. it makes me sad a little.

I dunno either, it is her choice. But it does make me twinge...especially after going through labor myself, I'll be lucky if I get the courage to brew number 2 (I know I was drugged but it's the recovery that's killing me at the moment). DH and I are quite content with a small family.

Have to wonder what they do for income, then again, they have a show so maybe that's where they get there money from.

I can just never be able to picture living in that house also.

I think the whole thing is quite disturbing, truthfully. Regardless of how much income from the show, how many donations they get, and national recognition, I think it'd be a challenge to raise these children with enough attention and guidance from their parents. Since when do siblings replace parents?

I understand that families take many shapes and forms, and this one is certainly untraditional (or maybe the most extreme case of being traditional??), but I think that family deserves more than to be a baby-making machine (which they now profit from).

I'll be interested to see how the rest of the kids grow up. The oldest and his wife already have 2 and they're in their early twenties, so they could be on the same track as the Duggar parents!

Who knows? maybe they're onto something that I'm missing completely! They do seem to all be on the straight and narrow, so perhaps there is something to having INSANE amounts of children?

Well I will start out by saying that when DH found out about the Duggars, his response was 'How does the dad even do it? Thats got to be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway!'


In my opinion as long as they can afford to have their children, and they are not delinquent parents, then I think it is their decision to leave up to god. The children all seem very happy and fairly well adjusted, but I just have to wonder what happens when one of them wants to go off to college or leave backwoods arkansas....what a culture shock that will be!

I just heard about this and i couldn't believe my ears!
I know its her choice to keep having children and I'm sure she knows all about the complications to herself and the baby since she is getting older - but WoW!

I could never and honestly, I don't think its fair that these children are being made to take on parental responsibilities so young.
