engagement party outfit help

I've never been to an engagment party (surprisngly) because all the couples/friends I know have just had a shower/wedding/ and thats it.

I am invited by a guy in my law school class to his engagment party. I'm not veryy good friends with him, hes more like an acquaintance (thus not sure why I was even invited) because he barely invited anyone else from class
....anyhow!

Its at 3:00pm on a Saturday, backyard tent kinda party at his house. He said 60-70 people are invited. Thats all I know

What should I wear?? esp in this kinda weather. I think he did mention the tents being heated.
Should i wear a dress? Can i get away with black pants and a cute top? i have no clue!!

Please help

outdoor party now??! hmm thats crazy! i would wear a hoodie and sweats! LOL

casual dress with leggins would be my best bet.

I'd go with this..maybe a nice long sweater with leggings and boots?

Yeah, I wouldn't wear a dress unless it turned out to be an exceptionally warm day. I'd go for pants and a nice top, since leggings make my asss look massive!
