FH wants to play GOLF the morning of the wedding!

FH wants to play GOLF the morning of the wedding!

ceremony is at 4:00 - he says 'well what am i going to do unti then? Pace around?' I want to ask him not to do this but he LOVES golf. I am just worried he will burn out, loose his steam, get drunk too early... the list goes on. Did anyone's hubby do something similar on the big day? Should I stand my ground here?

I would let him do what he wants--it may help to relax him if he's nervous. If you really think about it how much more energy will he expend playing golf than you will having your hair & make up done, getting dressed, taking pictures....etc, etc

Let him play 9 holes - that's not too tiring. Make sure you make him wear sunscreen though! Don't want him beet red in pictures

Just ask him not to drink to much.

the grooms play golf the morning of the wedding all the time on A Wedding Story on TLC......our's started at noon......so no games for us, but my husband did make it to the bar before the ceremony!!! sometimes people need to do something to help them relax......

My DH wanted to do this but (I don't want to sound nutty) but I told him NO WAY. And he had started saying he wanted to do this really early in the planning.

I didn't care if it was going to relax him, it was going to STRESS me (was he gonna get sunburned? be too tired? run late? etc) and just said unless you want me VERY upset & stressed, you will not even think about it anymore. I think it was my only selfish demand though.

ETA: DH will not play nine holes ...

I agree with everyone.. Nine holes should not be bad, definitely wear sunscreen and not too much alcohol. What else do the guys do except sit around and wait. The girls are differnent.. there's hair and make-up, etc.
I am waiting for my FH to ask me this golf question..

Thanks girls. FH is standing behind me going 'See! Told ya! Woohooo!' If it's going to make him happy then I am all for it. He promises only 9 holes and only 1 beer (hmmm, I have my doubts about that one).

You will have enough to stress about the morning of your wedding - dont' worry about what your soon-to-be husband is doing. I later found out that mine when to Dave & Busters with all his high school friends who made the trip to the wedding. He was going to play golf and I actually gave him a list of local courses, how far they were from the hotel, how much they cost, etc. I wanted him to be relaxed rather than stressed out from waiting around all day.

dh, his father and two guys in the wedding party played 18 the morning of our wedding. they definately drank but since fil was there i knew it wouldn't be too much. i was actually jealous! i wanted to play too but it take triple the time for the bride to get ready so i had to suck it up. i thought it was a great idea! our ceremony started at 6:30 so what would he have done all day..............

alot of grooms do this. I don't see why he can't.
Perhaps you can ask him to take his time, wear sunscreen and a hat, drink water while he's out there and PLEASE don't drink!! That's what I would have asked my FH.

I'm sure he will understand!
