Figured you'd get a kick out of this...

DH, SIL and BIL threw my IL's a surprise anniversary brunch yesterday. They're married 35 years today, so we've been planning this party for months and it finally went down yesterday. We had it at the Library Cafe in Farmingdale and everything was phenomenal. But the best part was that I hired Marneycakes to make a replica of their original wedding cake. She did such an amazing job! Here's a side by side comparison....and the topper is the ORIGINAL cake topper from their wedding cake 35 years ago!

AHHHMMMAAAAZING. The top tier was chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream (MIL's fav), and the bottom was vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream (FIL's fav).

Fantastic idea and a beautiful cake!!!

My parents are celebrating their 40th in June - I REALLY gotta figure out exactly what I am going to do. We threw a surprise party for their 35 and my mom has said that she DOES NOT WANT a huge party for their 40th....but I still want to do something really special!
