First dates

Think WAY back to that very first date with your DH girls...not your first meeting, not your first kiss, your first date...

I'll go first...
A friend of mine set DH and I up (he is now my BIL - married DH's sister). DH didn't know where to take me so he asked my friend what would be a good idea. I'm not a fancy girl and my guy friends actually call me Larry since I've always been one of the guys. So we ended up making plans to go to Fridays in Massapequa. I was DEAD BROKE working for the radio station and making next to nothing. I asked my dad for $20 telling him 'I probably won't have to use it but a girl never goes on a date with no cash in her pocket.' I dressed cute and was ready to go until my dad stopped me at the door. He told me that I should call this guy and tell him I was broke and didn't have money to do dinner and maybe we could do something else. I was MODIFIED!

So I called up my hot date and said just that to him. He just laughed and said 'well what if I planned on paying for you?' Very sweet and kind. I should say right then and there, it was the best part of our date LOL (minus the very end of the date) !

I met him at Friday's and I have to say it was one of the worst dates I've ever been on. DH isn't really a talker and just from these boards you can tell I ramble. He sat there most of the night staring at me with nothing to say. I would ask a question and it would be 1 or 2 word answers. I wanted to DIE! At least I had the beer keeping me from leaving.

Me: So you have a sister?
Him: Yup
Me: Any other siblings?
Him: Nope
Me: How long you in Local 3?
Him: 3.5 years

Yoy get the idea...

We went back to the house he rented with 2 friends and his sister. We watched some TV with his sister and my friend and then he walked me to my car. He kissed me like I've never been kissed before and that's when I knew there would be a second date and maybe try to give it a chance and hopefully he would talk more...

DH and I 'met' on the internet ... we spoke for a few hours on IM and then the phone that same day ... i told him i had to go because i was leaving for Florida (for a week) the following morning. I said i had to go to the bird-store to put my parrot in the birdy-boarding (hehe) and DH said he lived 5 minutes away from there and he'd love to meet me!

So we met there ... Tookie (my parrot who usually hates men) flew to DH (probably to avoid going to the store's owner, but still) ... it was my first sign

we then went to a coffee house and got some yummy coffees and cakes ... as the cake got there, we decided we were actually hungry for real food so we ordered that ... DH was so cute trying to stay strong and not eat the cakes that were in frotn of us

and that was pretty much it ... DH talked A LOT and i wasn't 100% sure about him ... but i figured i'd give him another shot anyhow ... good thing i did, huh?

Our first date was also the first time we met..and the first time we kissed...and hooked up.

I knew him for about 2 years online and we were just chat buddies. He lived in IL and I still lived in NY. Then when we were both single, he paid for a ticket for me to visit him. So basically, all of our 'firsts' were in the same night. It was such a great day...we had such chemistry....

SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

We did the long distance thing and then I moved to IL 6 months later...been here ever since!

it was fun
he took me out for suhi. went back to his place talked for hours. smoked (which i had not done for over 4 years) and then i passed out sitting up on his bed. lol

DH and I went to a mexican restaurant for our first date. Being we met online - this was our first time seeing each other face to face.

We had great conversation (and fabulous guacomole!) though DH kept telling me 'there's no reason to be nervous'... I couldn't understand why he was saying that but (months) later he said it was because I was playing with my napkin. I wasn't nervous....I was playing with my napkin to keep from reaching across the table to rub his bald head!
We didn't kiss til the 2nd date (though I would have on the 1st if he had attempted!).

On the way home from our date - I called my sister and my best friend.... and told them I'd just met my future husband!

I met my DH at a restaurant.. we were both at a friends birthday.,,and we sat next to each other. I swear I've never felt so comfortable with a person I just met before. I honestly KNEW that this was the man I was going to marry!! :)

So our first date (the day after).. he took me out to Fushimi in Bay Ridge. He was really trying to impress me because he ordered a bottle of wine..or 2.. I don't even remember. It was jsut a really perfect time. I couldn't get enough of him. I think we spent every single day together since then.

Aww this makes me miss him.. I can't wait to get home and kiss him all over lol

Our first date was an intense make-out session on the couch in my living room.

We had been flirting for weeks (DH says MONTHS, but I guess I was oblivious to his advances.) and you could cut the sexual tension with a knife. We were hanging out with another friend (a kid who lived in my building... he's my friend's younger brother and we always kinda took care of him like a younger brother.) and DH out of nowhere declared he was hungry and he didn't want to make anything so he said if our friend would fly, he'd buy. I found out later it was just an excuse to get our friend out of the house so he could make his move. And oh boy he did.

Our first date was after our first kiss LOL

DH (soo strange to say that) and I had met a couple of times since we have a mutual friend but the night before our first date is when we 'clicked.'

That was a Friday so Saturday he and I both played phone tag with our mutual friend and eachother trying to plan the first date.

It ended up being dinner and a movie - and we just so happen to end up at the same movies as formentioned mutual friend and her boyfriend LOL so it really turned into a double date.

It was a great night - great conversation and ended up back in my old apartment, on the couch making out LOL we've been together ever since.

That was the end of August 2006.

I met DH online, met at a starbucks, but I would say our real first date was when we went to dinner at Applebees. After that, we went to a beach nearby and talked for hours.

Kieran and I worked together for about 2.5 years before we went out our first official date! There was always a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally strong chemistry between us but we were both in other relationships and we became really legit friends. He was actually my work husband but we were always above board and never crossed a line.

Anyways, his relationship ended and mine ended about 3 months later......

He called me up and asked me out to dinner and it was STRAIGHT UP LOVE from that point forward.

We went to a dinner on the water in Rye, NY (Westchester county - where he is from) and we just sat and drank and ate and talked until we got the boot. It was so crazy because while everything changed between us it all felt so amazing and right and natural! ahhhhhhhhhhhh I love reminiscing

we had mutual friends first, then were friends.

we flirted for a long time and then eventually hooked up -- then went on a date lol.

We never had a real first date...we met online and were long distance (NY to Ohio). Our first 'date' was the first time I met him in the LaGuardia baggage terminal...which is also the location of our first kiss. Then we went to our hotel (we were staying in the city) and had our first everything else

I actually met DH through my ex boyfriend- We became VERY close (no, not that close ) while I was still with my ex. We spoke all the time, phone, IM, etc... (yes, it was scandalous)

Then finally one night after I had broken up with my ex, we met at a bar, I had WAYYYY too much Jack and Coke and the rest is history.

I still say I have no idea where our first 'date' was...maybe we ate at Houlihans or something, I really have no idea!!

We met online in July 2006. We started talking on AIM and on the phone for months. We didn't meet until 6 months later (Dec).

We met up in the Hooter's parking lot and then drove to Chili's for dinner. It was typical/slighty awkward first date. At the end of the night he thought I didn't like him because I didn't kiss him (or even give him a handshake lol)
