Re: 'floating floors' - wood floors

We just put this down in our living room and we are gonna also put it in the babies room. We love it! Not sure of the brand but we got it on sale at Home Depot for .89 sq ft.

DH was going to do it himself but his parents neighbor is a contractor and offered to do it for us.

Re: 'floating floors' - wood floors

my hubby who is NOT a handy person put these down

We got an expensive kind 2.98 a sq ft from home depot for our living room... which i have no complaints about at all.. going over one year now..still has the shine..no bumps no nothing..

He also did my mothers bedroom with the same kind...and its perfect..

We decided to go cheaper for our bedroom biggest regret.. its lifting everywhere.. and i want to take it out already..its only 5 months old...

Good news is- he is an expert installer now..lol

In my opinion- def dish out a bit extra for quality.. i believe the one we got was PERGO ...or something like that..
Also- dont forget the plastic sheet that gets layed down before the tile goes on..its VERY EASY to install... if my hubby can do it..anyone can do it..hes a computer nerd..not a handy man..lol

Re: 'floating floors' - wood floors

FFIL installed our's for us. We only have it b/c we got it for free. When we were looking though (before it was given to us) the cheapest we found was at costco.

Re: 'floating floors' - wood floors

We put it down in our Living/dining room and hall and bedroom upstairs. Love it. We used Mohawk brand and bought it from LI Paneling.....they have hundreds to look at and at all different price ranges.

And I installed it with a little help from my sister. Yup its that easy except when you get to a weird corner or some sort of transition.
