Gift for 50th Anniversary

HELP!

My Aunt and Uncle decided at the last minute to have a big party for their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

I was thinking of getting this personalized wedding platter at lenox but it's too late to order it.

I was thinking of maybe a GC for one of the fancy steakhouses they like to go to, but I was hoping for something a bit more personal.

Also, if I do a GC, what's the amount. They gave us literally a week's notice for the party which is at the Garden City Hotel.

As far as gift comparisons go, they gave a good gift. It was more than a lot of people, but honestly I think they could have afforded double what they gave. DH's aunt and uncle gave us $100 more than they did and DH's Aunt/Uncle don't own multiple homes, etc.

So I want to be generous but I don't need to totally make myself broke over the gift, since they didn't do that for our wedding.

Ugh..why does it have to be complicated?

Re: Gift for 50th Anniversary

I'd rather give a gift than a GC.

I'm a decent photographer, I've done family weddings, baby pics, etc, so I was thinking fo doing photos at the party and making them an album as part of their gift, but I don't know how to express that.

Re: Gift for 50th Anniversary

What about some nice wine or champagne? Something that they might not purchase themselves?

I did think of this. I was thinking about a bottle of champagne and then DH reminded me that every time we go to their house for a holiday, they have 2 cases of Cristal.

There isn't much they wouldn't buy for themselves, which is why I was trying to find something personal.

I know they like to watch and go to the movies.

I was thinking maybe like a date night with the GC for the restaurant and for the movies.

Or maybe a basket with a bottle of wine, popcorn, a nice throw, and...what else?

Re: Gift for 50th Anniversary

What about tickets to a show? Two nice Broadway tickets are like $250?
