Gift Help!!!

So one of our best friends is graduating from Columbia Dental School and moving on to Harvard for an advanced dental degree. Wowsers!

anyway... his parents are throwing a party for him this Friday at a Steakhouse in Weekhawken and we were invited. We obviously want to get him something but I have no idea what.

I had said that we should get him a really nice bottle of scotch but DH says that they always joke around with him saying he cant drink man booze, he only drinks pucker He apparently spit out Blue Label the night before our wedding so I guess a bottle of something is out.

Any other thoughts? He was a groomsman in our wedding and one of DH's best friends from college so I am thinking we want to spend like $100 or so on him?

Thoughts? I love you girls.

Not even kidding but my knee-jerk response was 'buy a bottle of blue lable'.....okay - so that is out!

HMM - a really nice tie? I know that sounds kinda lame but it sounds like he is going to have quite the professional career! Maybe go to like Hugo Boss or something (DH has an obsession with their ties....some of them are about 95 or so)....

What else do you get a man besides booze?! I'm at a loss!

ETA: sidenote - he sounds like one smart cookie!!! CONGRATS to him!!!!

For some reason I don't think I realized HOW CLOSE we live to each other! I knew you lived in Jersey but I totally overlooked the fact that we are like neighbors! We must hang soon!

i live right outside the lincoln tunnel....
our building is the very first high rise u see when u drive into jersey

w/no traffic, we're in the city in 10 minutes

how late is the party?

I dont think it starts until 8 so I would guess it goes until 10-10 30. If you are up for some later-ish drinking let me know. I miss youuuuu
