Greeting card advice: I need help from creative Brides out there!!!!

Hello Brides,

I have a quick question about greeting cards--What do you do with them? It may sound ridiculous, but what are people doing with the cards they got from the wedding? I figure I could put those and all that I have collected from my honey in a hope chest, I guess...

But what do you do with Birthday cards, anniversary cards and get well soon cards ( i have lots of them since recently I was in a car accident). I like to keep that stuff, but it's adding up!!! I have YEARS of birthdays , so how many can I keep? Any creative ideas on what I can do with them? I don't want to throw them away but...

Okay, I'm off...Thanks for any info...

Re: Greeting card advice: I need help from creative Brides out there!!!!

I too am a collector of 'stuff' However, I am not creative enough to even begin to decide what to do with these cards. I already had saved about a hundred of assorted greetings, then BAM after the wedding between engagement, shower, wedding, etc... that amount tripled! I found pretty boxes at Micheals craft store to store the new stuff in. The old memories are still at my parents house and trust me, my mother is not happy to have inherited my collection!
I am very close to tossing it all, I mean, when was the last time I actually was able to spend the evening reading all that stuff anyway??

Re: Greeting card advice: I need help from creative Brides out there!!!!

I recently started scrapbooking and have found a way to put all of these sort of things to use. I have cut some of them up so that I can see both front and inside of card at once. For the really special cards, I leave them intact so that you can open it. I surround my scrapbook page with other momentos or pictures and descriptions of what they are. If you go to Michaels or scrapbook stores, it is amazing to see what you can do with this stuff in very creative ways. Scrapbooking has definitely changed since I was younger! It is not very popular out here on LI, but in the rest of the country it has become a huge business! Just do a search on the web to see.
