Holiday gift ideas (let's get it started!)

Yes, I do start my christmas shopping in October! I've been known to buy xmas presents in August as well!

Anyway, I was hoping everyone could share any gift ideas they had. What are you getting for DH, in-laws, parents, siblings, friends, etc?

So far we know we're getting DH's parents ipods. Everyone else (including DH!) I'm stuck on.

Maybe if we share some gift ideas it will help everyone!

right now all i know is that im gonna get my mom a pandora bracelet for her b-day which is the week b4 xmas and then ill give her charms for xmas :)

I was planning on giving albums from our wedding cds but as it turns out my contract says I get them 6 months AFTER we pick up our album. We haven't even picked out our pictures. Sooooo, let the ideas fly, I need them too!!

i know im getting DH as part of his gift some sort of power tool, or something house related! i usually get him some clothes, and then a funny gift...
the funny gift will either be a personalized gallon jug of hot sauce (he is obessed and puts it on everything!!

as far as everyone else, my nephews prob toys clothes,

my parents...well me and my brother usually go in on tickets to a broadway show, and gift certificate to dinner..they really enjoy that

I am glad I am not the only one who starts early Colleen!
My mom is so hard to buy for cause whatever I give her she gives back to me. And I have absolutely no idea what to get DH. I really can use ideas too!

i use to always start xmas shopping in august.....dh thought i was crazy and put a stop on that ....

.....being that dh is an avid cigar smoker i was gonna get him one of the big humidors that holds about 3000 cigars. i guess everyone else will get whatever it is that catches my eye lol

DH - want to bring him to Quebec City for a winter weekend getaway. Smaller stuff for him to open like a new jersey or something.

My mom - a swarovski piece - its tradition

Brother/gf - gift cert to a nice dinner

Newphews - clothes.

Sisters - no clue.

inlaws - possibly a Channa Plaque and not sure what else.

SIL/BIL - no clue.

DH and I usually don't exchange holiday gifts, we usually go away somewhere. However, since it will be his last holiday season before the baby comes along (and we're not traveling), I think I'm going to go all out and get him a few things I know he wouldn't buy himself in the future (but would really like). I know a Wii is going to be a part of that package, some expensive jeans he's been looking at for awhile, and a couple of TV Series on DVD. Not sure what else yet!

FIL doesn't celebrate the holidays (we're not religious), so we don't normally exchange gifts. BIL bought us gifts one year randomly, and we didn't have anything for him, so we got him stuff from Men's Wearhouse during last holiday season. He didn't get us anything back though (and was shocked we got him gifts), so I'm not really sure what to do about him .

I got my mom clothes last year, and I think I'll do something like that again for this year. However, this time, I'll take her out shopping so she can pick it out for herself--I think she'd really appreciate that. As for my siblings, we usually do very very small gifts with them--they barely make any money and they felt terrible when we came in with huge gifts for them one year. It all depends on the family! .

Friends and I usually do something very small. I usually go into baking mode and bake tons of stuff, wrap it up (along with the recipe), and send it out! Last year I made toffee and rainbow cookies, and that was a huge hit.

i actually bought my first holiday gift yesterday so i don't think it's too early

I bought a Chanukah DVD for my niece. But i need to get her something else too ... cause just a dvd is a crappy gift

and i have no idea what anyone else will get.

DH and I are going on a cruise with his entire family in december, so i may get him (and possibly his parents too) an excursion of sorts....

not sure, i try to get a combo gift for DH since his bday is in december. he was looking into that P90x program but i will see if he still wants it... as far as other friends/family i think this year we will see if we can just do a secret santa to cut back on the expense...or like last year we kinda agreed w/ our siblings we would not exchange for money reasons, so we may just end up buying parent gifts and gifts for kids in the family.

for MIL, we got a gift set of Youth Dew by Estee Lauder from a wharehouse sale I went to, not sure what we are getting FIL and BIL yet. BIL will probably get a gift card to Gamestop or something like that.

No clue what to get FIL...

We're planning on getting our mothers itunes giftcards bc they both got an iPod touch recently lol not sure what else we're gonna get them though! We always get one of DH's sisters jewelry and clothes from NY & Company bc she loves that store - especially the jewelry. We're thinking of getting my other SIL a Sephora giftcard or a Coach giftcard with a New Moon calendar (she's obsessive with Twilight stuff). We always get my FIL clothing bc he hates shopping and prefers that other people buy him stuff so he doesn't have to lol. Not sure about anyone else yet!

Well I dont exchange much anymore... everyone says they dont have the money.
So this year I got frames and Im putting one of the pro pics from our wedding and giving it to my mom, MIL, SIL and my sister.
My DH I dont know yet. I may get him an early gift the new COD.
My son has yet to tell me what he wants.
