I am a D!ck.

DH and I are currently in the process of booking a trip to Australia in November.

Like the d!ck that I am, I completely forget that one of my very best friends got me tickets to a foo fighters concert right in the middle of when the Australia trip is going to be. DH is not budging on the dates because of work AND the deal we got is only for a specific time period.

I don't know what to do and I would feel absolutely terrible for telling her to sell the tickets or use them with her husband instead of me.

If you were my friend, would you hate me?

She doesn't have a lot of free time to herself and doesn't have a ton of friends where she lives/works.

ooo, that's a tough situation

you should probably just tell her that you tried changing the dates of your trip but all the other dates were much more expensive and that you hope she does'nt mind that you won't make the concert with her ... ask for a rain-check.

i'm sure she'll be a bit upset, but she'll get over it.

That's tough....I mean, I'm sure she can find someone else but now she might be out that money so that you can save money?

That said, I'd probably go on the trip and apologize profusely

I would be disappointed as your friend, but would definitely take Australia over Foo Fighters and would understand...

I would apologize like crazy but I honestly think most people would understand...a week long trip to Australia vs a concert? I would offer to pay for the tickets if she can't sell them or use them...

I really think she shouldn't hold a grudge or hate you for this. Especially if this is completely unlike you. It's just the circumstances!
