i know we're all married but...

anyone ever use Events and Adventures? I keep hearing ads on the radio for it and my sister is single (she's 24 and got out of a 7 year relationship like 10 months ago so she's having trouble getting 'out there' again).

TIA

Re: i know we're all married but...

I had looked into them a while ago - then found out that its $2000 just to join ! There were also some pretty bad reviews online. I went on a ski trip a couple of years ago and there was an Events & Adventures group on the same bus - it was mostly women and they said that its mostly women at all of their events.

She might want to check out meetup.com - they have singles groups and all kinds of groups for different interests - and it doesn't cost $$$$ to join

Re: i know we're all married but...

Yikes I had no idea it cost so much money too!!!

I always thought it was a really good concept, but probably an equally good idea, minus the fee, is to hijack their events

By that, I mean encourage your sister to take a buddy and go on a day trip skiing, join a running club, book club, photography group, hiking trip, etc... if nothing else it could be a fun way to meet new people - guys and girls alike. I can't say I'm very adventurous and do things on my own, so that's why I say take a friend along.

When I trained for a marathon with Team in Training, I met TONS of people. It's all about thinking outside the box. HTH

And they even claim its not a dating organization - just a 'fun' way for singles to get to know each other - I think I could do that without paying $2000, thank you very much!
