let's play a game!

OK ladies, i need some inspiration for my creative writing (i'm a poet!), so i'm reaching out to your lives for inspiration . here's a game that writers sometimes use to help the creative juices flowing, and i thought it would be a fun thing to put on here:

i'll post a random TRUE story about something that happened in my life (at any point in my life). it can be a few sentences or it can be much longer than that. from this memory that i share, what memory in your life does it remind you of? for instance, if i talk about a day at the beach, it might remind poster #2 of this one time she got ice cream at the beach. poster #3 will read #2's story, and that story might remind the next person about this one time where she spilled ice cream down her pants when she was in third grade, and so on. this can take us to the most random of stories--funny, serious, etc!

so i'll start, and we'll go from there:

before i became an RA in college and involved in lots of different clubs and organizations, i was actually a hell-raiser my freshman year. one example of this was when my suitemates and i realized that all of our keys worked in a locked, empty room in our suite. we started an unofficial business renting it out to freshmen who wanted to be alone with their boyfriends . one night, when the room was actually not occupied (thank goodness), an RA that was a complete b*tch to us all year saw that the room was unlocked, went inside, and saw this whole set-up (the beds pulled together, flowers, doughnuts...very classy). she freaked out, locked the door, and put up a sign saying that if we want to get our stuff back, we must admit our guilt to the resident director by sunday. so, we woke up early, cleared out the room, locked the door, and told the RD that the RA is making some crazy claim that she saw a 'hotel-like' space in our suite. the RD checked it out, saw the room was clean, and told the RA not to make such blasphemous accusations .

ok, now the next person's turn! .

Re: let's play a game!

that's hysterical! did you make a lot of money?

so what does it remind me of? i didnt dorm. but in senior year, my school recently opened new dorms less than a block away. they also re-did the student organization spaces. i was a leader in one of the orgs that had space in teh basement (the newly done basement)....well a few months into the semester, we learned that they didnt put in proper ventillation so mold was growing between the walls - and even on some furniture. YUCKKKK. soooo since the dorm wasnt full, we got to move our 'office' to the dorm. it was fun...our own bathroom, two bedrooms, lots of closet space. good time

Re: let's play a game!

Little j's post reminded me of the first house I lived in when we moved off campus. I had a bad experience living with girls so I decided after that I would only live with guys. And the guys who were my friends (and living off campus that year) had already picked out a house without me, so I was kind of tagging along for the ride. When I finally did go to check out the house, while it was in a nice enough area, the house kinda grossed me out. A guy who had his own business had bought it off of an old lady for real cheap and was in the process of redoing it when his wife made him sell the business (apparently he had 3 and she wanted him around more), so another firm bought it and stopped doing work on it. The half bathroom downstairs was practically an outhouse, the carpeting has dust buffalos on them (not bunnies, but buffalos), and the bathroom upstairs smelled like old lady still. Long story short, being the OCD girl that I am I had to turn a blind eye to a lot of things and they used the crappy condition the house was in before we moved in to steal our security deposit and redo a lot of things.
