Meatloaf Recipe

Just got one emailed to me by Food Network (it's a Paula Dean recipe). But it says for the topping to mix ketchup, brown sugar and mustard. I hate my mom's meatloaf - cause she puts ketchup on top. What do you put on top of yours?

I don't put anything on top...
My ketchup goes inside of it...chop meat, eggs, milk, breadcrumbs, onion powder, and ketchup mixed together...

Kieran hates ketchup on too so I just skip that step and leave it off! But that PD mixture sounds delish to me!

I make Turkey meatloaf but I am sure you can use chopmeat. . . . I don't put anything on top...
My ketchup goes inside of it too.

1 small onion, minced
1 tsp olive oil
package of lean ground turkey
1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs (I use whole wheat)
1/4 cup ketchup
1 egg


Preheat the oven to 350°.

Saute olive oil and onion on low until translucent.
In a medium bowl mix turkey, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup.. Place mixture into a 9x12 loaf pan or shape into a loaf in an un-greased baking pan.

Bake uncovered for one hour (sometimes longer) at 350°.

beardy likes shredded cheddar cheese on top.

so i usually do half with just that for him... and then part i'll add jalapenos on top for me.


i put ketchup on the inside AND then outside.


i add yellow mustard to mine afterwards -- i frequently like meatloaf as a next-day cold sandwich.

I mix ketchup, BBQ and spicy mustard. So good!

I use pretty much the same recipe as Marie, but I also put a ketchup/water/worcestershire sauce combo on top. i usually hate ketchup, but i like it on meatloaf when it's combined with the worcestershire sauce!

ketchup, honey mustard, brown sugar, and sweet baby rays BBQ sauce. Everyone LOVES it.
