MoochsWifey's post just reminded me

We never got the top layer of our cake!

The Maitre'd made sure he told us not to cut the top layer for that reason and they forgot to give it to us!

i would def tell them cause some girls on here that that happened to the place gave them a small replica for their 1 year anny

aww that sucks...if it makes you feel better, we didnt have our entire cake! they served it at the earlier wedding!

I gave the top 1/2 to SIL to bring home and put in the empty freezer downstairs. I bet you it's eaten by now.

I am sorry to laugh Ang but that is something my dad would do too!!

he always does it... lol ... when we were younger my mom could always tell who did it because he could never cut a piece... he would always fork it out and there would be fork marks left!!!

seirously i wasnt going to keep it for a year anyway so it wasnt a big deal..

ETA: When we realized what happened... we both looked at my dad and he pretended to be sleeping but he had a half smile on his face... my mom and i couldnt help but laugh!.

we had a fake display cake that kinda looked like what we picked out..then the bakery was able to make sheet cakes with our flavors to cut up and serve to our guests...we got money back from the reception hall, and a all expense paided dinner for 2! so it was actually kinda worth it! LOL still sucks cuz i never got to see it tho!
we took home the cake topper of the other weddings lol we ate that and the DHs grooms cake for our anniversary! haha
