My BFF got engaged!!!

My best guy friend got engaged on Christmas Day. I'm sooooooooooo excited for them both! They are having an engagement party on January 28th, but I have no idea what to get them! I want it to be something really different and special though. And please don't say money, I know that that's exactly what they probably want/need, but I don't want to give cash. So what was your favorite engagement gift? Or what would you really have LOVED to get once you got engaged?

I hate giving money personally because it's not sentimental.

How about a personalized gift from things remembered to celebrate their engagement? or maybe something for their new home?

i like the canvas gift idea or the channa plaque

they are great gifts to get when you first get engaged. i also got a 100 days tillmy wedding calendar which was really awesome for me the last 100 days

i would stay away from like photo albums, engraved frames, etc. i have so many of them and no where to put them now!

i would say go for the Channa plaque - not alot of people know about them outside of LIW and its such a unique gift!

I got lenox toasting flutes and a cake serving set at my e-party. It was a nice gift bc we were able to use them for the wedding

my favorite engagement gift was something small and inexpensive...but so practical
I got a lenox ring holder for my ering and love it...i take my rings off nightly so it was great for me

I was going to say this too. I LOVE my toasting flutes and it was nice to have them at the wedding. And my SIL & BIL got us our cake serving set and it was also nice to use at the wedding.

I also like the plaque because like someone else said, people don't really know about them unless they are on the site.

We got this as a gift as well, and loved that we were able to use them for the wedding.

I guess im in the minroty that i prefer money towards the wedding. I usually give a check and then something small, like a wedding planning book, or a just engaged photo frame.

I have to say this! Or th epicture is a good idea.

I hate to say it though, money would be more useful. I know everyone hates giving it because it's not sentimental, but so many people end up saying that and sometimes the couple gets more gifts than they want because everyone else is thinking the same thing! We got so many frames and wine glasses etc for our engagement party and what we really needed was money for the wedding!

How about you get them something small plus money?
