Name is officially changed! w/ a sweet story.

Took me long enough.

Weird story though...as I was at the DMV, I felt really, really sad and was like 'should I really do this?' even though all along I have known that I've wanted to.

And right then, when I almost started to cry (yes, whatever, I'm a big fruitcake sometimes) as I was waiting to finish up the process, Eric Clapton came on the radio station that the DMV had on. Clapton is Neel's absolute favorite guitarist in the world. So I took that as a sign that this is alllllriiiiiight.

And then, as I was packing my stuff right after it was all finalized, Elton John came on the radio. I love him, and I went to one of his concerts with my aunt a few months before she passed away, and always think of her when I hear his music. (As some of you might remember, I had posted about how dragonflies - her favorite! - kept popping up throughout the wedding process, on key days like picking up our rings, finalizing our officiant, etc.)

So, in my heart I take it as my aunt giving me a big hug and telling me it's totally cool that I took the name.

I miss her terribly...but these little things give me so much comfort.

Aww that is great! I really do think that those were signs! I have yet to change my name, it makes me sad too!
