Need good - easy PARTY food...
Hey Ladies,DH and I are having NYE at our new house. Anyone have any easy recipes that are your go to for parties? I'm looking more for savory than sweet since I know we'll have plenty of cakes and cookies.
Thanks xoxo

Re: Need good - easy PARTY food...
1 pound dry ziti pasta
1 onion, chopped
1 pound lean ground turkey
Basil, oregano and italian seasonings
2 (26 ounce) jars spaghetti sauce (I used 2 24 ounce and it was fine)
6 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
1 1/2 cups sour cream
6 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add ziti pasta, and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes; drain.
In a large skillet, brown onion and ground turkey over medium heat. Sprinkle basil, oregano and Italian seasoning for flavor before turkey is done.
Add spaghetti sauce to skillet, and simmer 15 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter or spray a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Layer as follows: 1/2 of the ziti, Provolone cheese, sour cream, 1/2 sauce mixture, remaining ziti, mozzarella cheese and remaining sauce mixture - leave some for the top. Top with grated Parmesan cheese and extra sauce.
Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until cheeses are melted.

Re: Need good - easy PARTY food...
This is super easy!Filo cups (they are already made in the freezer section near the pie crusts)
1 jar hot pepper spread (I buy it in stop and shop in the jelly aisle but I couldn't find it in walbaums)
French Brie
Sliced Almonds
In the filo cup put a little bit of the hot pepper spread (not too much..it shouldn't even be half way filled)
Then put a generous slice of brie (it should fit in the cup)
Then top it with 2-3 sliced almonds
Oven should be at 350 and wait for the brie to completely melt and that is it!!

Re: Need good - easy PARTY food...
I make what I call 'Weiners and Balls'
WEiners are pigs in a blanket, just get lil smokies and wrap them in crescent rolls and cook! Sometimes I'll add cheese and bacon around the smokies before the cresecents, its delish!
The Balls are sausage balls.
1 tube Jimmy Dean regular sausage
1 tube JD hot sausage
1 cup Bisquick
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
Mix everything together, form into balls and bake at 350 for about 15-20 minutes. Then put them on a paper towel cuz those suckers are greasy!!

You can also make this with shredded chicken breast from the can (I used Hormel) It's quicker and tastes just as good.

Re: Need good - easy PARTY food...
we always make spinach dip, you know the one on the back of the soup mix packet:1 package (10 oz.) frozen chopped spinach, cooked, cooled and squeezed dry
1 container (16 oz.) sour cream
1 cup Hellmann's® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise (i usually add more to taste
1 package Knorr® Vegetable recipe mix
serve with veggies or cubes of pumpernickel bread
we also make mexican dip
1 can refried beans on the bottom of pie dish
layer of salsa on top (as much as you like)
layer of sour cream (as much as you like)
layer of mexican blend cheese (as much as you like)
chopped black olives and cilantro on top
serve with tortilla chips!
another popular one we do is shrimp bread
1 boucle bread
1-2 pnds medium shrimp depending on how big bread is. Peeled, deveined.
1 stick butter or more depending on how much you're making or how bad you want to be :)
lots of garlic
parsley
get a big boucle bread and cut a hole in the top. scoop out all the bread and cut into cubes. Place cubes on baking sheet with olive oil salt and pepper and bake until crispy like croutons.
put a layer of croutons in bread, then layer shrimp, then chopped butter and garlic, keep going until you've use it all, and then put lid back on.
Wrap the whole thing in aluminum foil and bake at 350 for about 45 minutes or until shrimp is cooked. It depends on how big your bread is and how much shrimp you used.
HTH!!!
