Newlywed advice from a bride to be...

Hello all! Congratulations on being married! As FH and I plan our big day together...we'd love to know...
Is there anything that you wish you had done? Wish you hadn't bothered to do? What's worth it? What's not?

Thanks!

Re: Newlywed advice from a bride to be...

Definitely regret not springing for the photobooth. I've seen them at other weddings and they were so much fun.

Also, I wish I would've done the wall of pictures of couples in the families on their wedding days. Saw a picture of an LIW bride who did this, and it came out awesome .

Same the photobooth was worth every penny!! And our DOC cheeky glam was the best $$ we could have spent. Made the day stress free and allowed us to actually enjoy our day and have fun!

Re: Newlywed advice from a bride to be...

I have to agree - the DOC was definitely worth it and I do wish I would have gotten a photobooth.

My advice - don't share all of your details with everyone. I got so many unwanted opinions! I wish I would have just told everyone that it would all be a surprise!

Re: Newlywed advice from a bride to be...

my two regrets...not having a photobooth and not making a must take photo list

we had a zap shots photographer...not worth it! get the photobooth instead.

our photographer was amazing, BUT even though he knew my parents were divorced, in the chaos of the day we only got photos that include my mom and dad together and we didnt realize that until we got the proofs back. its fine for my album but i cant give them a family picture to hang in their house

Re: Newlywed advice from a bride to be...

I am so happy that I had photobooth and DOC A Modern day Affair a bunch of things went wrong and they took care of everything. And that I left for my honeymoon the next day.

I probably wouldnt have spent so much time on making sure everything was monogramed from menus to church programs I am sure they wouldnt have been missed.

DO NOT think peoples lives stop for your wedding I live by this rule and everything worked out in the end. I never had a real bridezilla moment because is someone was there great and if not oh well

Re: Newlywed advice from a bride to be...

honestly, i was dying to get a photobooth and i didn't end up having it in the budget ... i am REALLY happy i didn't end up shelling out the extra cash because, though i know it would've been so much fun, i'm happier to have my thousand dollars

my advise is to figure out a budget and stick to it no matter what

and when it comes to LIW, it's a wonderful resource and i couldn't have planned the wedding without it, but you need to be aware that just because others pay for so-and-so (custom menus, programs, photobooths, slipper baskets, cry packs, etc) doesn't mean you need to also. Those things are fun and all, but they will end up breaking the budget...

Re: Newlywed advice from a bride to be...

Thanks.....I think I'm going to have to pass on the photobooth. It's way more than I have in the bank to spend....and I figure...the videographer (AJ) will capture goofy things....

Thanks so much for your input, girls...I really tried to get one! Just too much!

Re: Newlywed advice from a bride to be...

Definitely - A must take list. I cant stress that enough. I didnt do it and expected my photographer to take pictures that I thought were automatic but it wasnt.
