Niagara Falls- Canadian Side

Has anyone been there before?

We're trying to think of things to do this summer. We're thinking of doing 2-3 nights at a time mini-trips, coming back home in between to do the beach and stuff around here. In other words, we have no plan and no direction haha. Thinking of doing a weekend in Newport maybe, or maybe someplace new we haven't been before, like Cape Cod, or go up to Maine...then my mom suggested Niagara Falls but Canadian side, and that intrigued me. Need to run it by DH, but curious if anyone knows if it's a place you need 2 full days in, 3, more?

TIA!

Re: Niagara Falls- Canadian Side

A short trip to Cape Cod is great! We honeymooned there (Columbus Day weekend). We stayed in Hyannis with a cute little village area, various shops and restaurants. There are some quaint little beaches and of course the ferries to Martha's Vineyard. We also took a boat out to go whale watching which was breathtaking and also played mini golf!! Hehe

**If you get any info about Canada, I'd love to hear it as well! We would like to plan a week long vacation North (but still able to drive to) and we were thinking Niagara Falls as DH has never gone, but I can't find enough to do for 1 week, so I was thinking maybe Montreal/Quebec area. Thanks! ***

Re: Niagara Falls- Canadian Side

My DH and I went to Niagara Falls over Labor Day weekend last year. It was a day trip for us since we went to not one but two weddings that weekend... but enough about that. It was a lot of fun for us. I would suggest possibly an itinerary like this:

-Driving up and staying in the Finger Lakes Region in Rochester for beautiful scenery and wine tasting.

-Going to Niagara Falls and staying over night on the Canada side. Definitely hit up the Maid of the Mist. It was absolutely awesome

-From Niagara, Toronto is about 2 hours away. I would stay there at least over night. If not two days.

There are a lot of great little towns in upstate NY. College towns sometimes are really nice and it's worth exploring... even if it's to break up the ride.
