NWQOTD 9/27 - What have you learned?

Many of us had been with DH for a long time before getting married and thought we knew it all.

What's one thing you've learned about DH SINCE you've been married?

Re: NWQOTD 9/27 - What have you learned?

Well, I always knew DH would be a good father but since getting married and since we got pregnant, I realize HOW protective he will be. We are both on the messy side and recently he has been FREAKING out about the baby being in a messy house. Like seriously anxious.

He also is worried about our dogs and their hair when the baby comes and says that the baby can't be around the dogs for the first three months because it might develop allergies. I think FMIL told him that. Something to look into but I always thought he'd be the laid back parent and I'd be the freak.

That he is addicted to video games.

I knew he liked playing them but OMG he can play for hours on end. There are times he goes in his man-cave and I dont see him for like 5- 6 hours.

Mine too. OMG he can just sit there.

Sometimes when I play a game he'll take over. Last night I was playing Harvest Moon and I got tired and he was supposed to do one thing for me, and then he's like 'well, Ifigured I'd complete a day' and then I saw him saving so I went to bed, and then he's still not in bed and I'm like '?' and he';s like 'I'm just watering your crops for the next day' which is I guess nice bc I hate to do it, but really? I think he was obsessing

Re: NWQOTD 9/27 - What have you learned?

I have learned that DH seriously wants to adopt children. We've talked about kids and I've agreed that adoption was a nice idea, but that is one thing he absolutely wants to do with his life and I couldn't be happier. I mean, the idea of going through an adoption process scares me, especially because I'd want to adopt a baby, not an older child, but still. I can't think of anything better you can possibly do for another human being and I love that it was DH's idea.

I think adoption is amazing and I LOVE that both of you are on the same page.

Thanks!!! It made me really happy to see how excited he was for it. We really sat down and discussed it recently and what we need to do NOW to prepare for it. We'd still like to have our own children but in addition to adoption.

ETA: Our own CHILD. Not stocking up over here.

He is not as clean as I thought! He was always so anal about his room being clean and the apartment - not so much.

Re: NWQOTD 9/27 - What have you learned?

We've lived together practically since we met eachother, so I already knew a lot about him, but he's definitely become more into cleaning lately - especially since he put in his vows that he's going to do the laundry and swiffer...he keeps to his promises
