NWQOTD *~*~*~*August 1st*~*~*~*~*
Thanks so much to Anney for passing the tiara over to me!
Today's question...
So - would you and DH wait to have kids and really enjoy married life and get everything you want to do together out of your systems? Or would you start trying for the family you always wanted together, knowing you might have to give some of the 'fun' of being just the two of you?
DH & I have been talking alot about TTC. I am 30 and DH is 34. We both don't want to be older parents. We're not decided yet on whether to start trying and see what happens (i have PCOS) or wait and try later on. The reason being - if we wait and we havbe trouble, he, more than I, will be older before he even becomes a father. Or, we could get preggers right away.
DH & i are leaning towards just trying and seeing where it goes...I know I have PCOS, but plenty of women with it get pregnant easily with no complications. I hope i am one of those

Great question and congrats Antonella!!!!!!!!Dh & I are still young I'm only 25 and his 28. We want to wait about 2 or even 3 years. We have many trips planned and I'm not sure if that can all happen with a baby on board. So for us waiting is the best thing for now.

Re: NWQOTD *~*~*~*August 1st*~*~*~*~*
This was a huge topic of convo this past w/e w/ my friends and this morning w/ my coworkers.DH and I are going to wait most likely 2 more years before we TTC. We never lived together and we would like to enjoy some quiet time before we have kids. Plus, we'd also like to buy a house before we have kids since right now, we're only in a 1 BR.
I know I'm/we're getting older (i'm 30 and DH's 28) but I figured in 2 years, I would not be that old that i'd be such an old parent. I want to make sure that we're ready for it, and we both already discussed that we're not ready to bring kids into the world - we're just not in that phase in our lives yet.

DH and I have only a couple things we would like to do before we start TTC. Major thing is a trip to England and France first. We'd also like DH to have more income before as well (currently a TA with no f*ing jobs opening up). We're hoping to start trying fall 2012.

i have PCOS and we're currently TTC.We've been living together for almost 3 years, so we feel now that we're married the next step is babies!! We're going to try naturally until we come back from our 1 year anniversary trip in May and if we still haven't had a BFP, then my dr suggested taking metformin to treat the pcos.
so only time will tell!! Most of my friends who have had children say the second they stopped worrying about getting pregnant- they got their BFP that month lol

I have PCOS also, that's the only part that worries me about it when it comes to TTC. I took Metformin for about a good year (a whoppin 2000 mg), but it def did the job when it came to the PCOS. Good to know that your doctor recommended that as an option while you're TTC, because I wasn't sure what I would go on since now I use birth control to control the PCOS.
Goodluck to you guys!!!

to answer your question, DH and I really love kids and we know we want a family sooner rather than later. I'm 27, DH will turn 33 this month. he was ready years ago and I've finally caught up
I wouldn't say we are TTC right now but we are definitely getting more 'relaxed' with prevention. I've also began taking prenatals so babies are definitely on my radar.
most of my friends question why we want to start right away but DH and I have been living together for like 3 years already. We have had a house for a year. Sure we could take more vacations with out a little one but that's not enough of a reason, for us, to hold off on babies for years.
I can't wait to be a mother

Re: NWQOTD *~*~*~*August 1st*~*~*~*~*
We've talked about it many times, and agree that we're not going to TTC for another year or less. We have a few trips planned and want to just enjoy a full year of being newlyweds before having a baby (plus hubby feels he's too young lol). We really are excited though and lately it comes up constantly in conversation. We have a big trip we're planning to Europe (Balkans & Croatia) next summer, so the goal is to start officially 'trying' while we're there. I'd love to say that we conceived a baby in Europe
So let's see how it goes. By that time I'll be 27 and hubby will be 25 so we feel like it's a good time (if it was up to me, I'd be preggo right now lol)

are the prenatal vitamins supposed to help with getting pregnant? and i thought you were only supposed to take those once you were pregnant?

my OBGYN recommended that i try Clomid if I were to have problems TTC for my PCOS. I was on the pill for about 8-9 years to control it now...what is Metformin?

you can start taking them when you begin to TTC, so your body is prepared for a baby. I've been taking them since our HM, and I definitely notice and feel a difference. My skin is smoother and clearer, my hair and nails are strong and shinier and my body just 'feels' different

no, they don't help getting pregnant but prepares your body for the baby. Like getting the environment as healthy as possible KWIM? mostly for folic acid and iron i believe? I have been told that it doesn't hurt to take prenatal vitamins a couple of months before actively trying to get pregnant and definitely thru out your pregnancy.
It doesn't hurt because you could be pregnant for weeks before you find out KWIM?
but if you take a multivitamin, you are probably getting enough folic acid anyway.

Yup, but I ended up changing up my diet and eating very specific things to avoid it. Because I was taking such a high dose (2000 mg a day), I really had to watch what I ate. I remember eating mainly salads, fruits, and whole grains. I don't think I ate too much meat or things with a lot of dairy because it would bother my belly. I did end up loosing some of the weight I gained from PCOS during it (I gained like 30 pds in one month before being diagnosed). Really depends also on the mg that your doctor tells you to take.
