NWR- School

I hate my job. I really can't stand another minute in this hell hole. And to make matters worse they just took away all my adminitrative responsibilities. I don't know why. We got a new boss about a month ago and I've done nothing but walk on eggshells since. And this is the thanks I get. Granted, I'm not going to do anything rash and quit my job. But I want to get back into school and start looking for a new job. I already have a lot of downtime at work, but now I'm going to have DOUBLE the amount. I was thinking of maybe doing some online courses in addition to night/weekend classes. Can anyone recommend an undergraduate school with both online courses and night classes? TIA ladies!! You really are saving my sanity.

Re: NWR- School

i think most schools have online courses but not too many. there are also reputable colleges that have online schools... penn state has one that's totally online! it called the 'world campus'

I think Ang did online courses - ask her. I've been considering the same lately. I feel like a lost puppy sometimes with my career.

Thank you so much!!! I wasn't really sure, I've never really looked into it. I wouldn't be opposed to doing it completely online either, but I just didn't know if an employer would look at it as somewhat less than if you had physically gone to class. I'm going to check this out!

You should do it!!! Even if it's only a little bit on the side. That way if in a few years you decide you want to go a different direction, it won't be as hard! I wish I had been doing this all along!

with penn state online, i think you just get a regular penn state diploma so they would never even know you did it online! i'm not positive about that tho...

I was just about to ask if you took any campus classes but that's a silly question considering the campus is in Iowa. Thanks!! I'm going to check out both of these!! You've made me feel a lot better about being able to do this!!

what do you want to go back to school for? Maybe there are certain schools that would be best?

That's the BIG question, huh? I was going to school for political science with plans to become a paralegal. I couldn't afford the school I was at (there were NO jobs at all) so I came home and started working full time and put school on pause. Now, I work in a law firm and I have NO desire to go back to school for the legal field.

I don't know what I want to do. I'd really love to get into event planning, but I just don't know how to go about it.
