NYC parking rates

I heard the the parking rates will be going up in the boroughs but has anyone heard about the municipal parking areas. Right now I am paying $4 a day to park at work and I heard it is going up to $8 a day
Anyone know if this is true?

Its pretty sad that I work for DOT and the parking division is in my building and noone can give me a straight answer.
